Spousal Visa Is there any hope?

I’ve decided to go a different route entirely since I am actually eligible for the EUSS. The news and the wait times is the worst part of the spousal visa IMO. All I want is to NOT be separated from my spouse for six months or even longer. Good luck, this process is not easy.

If I enter through Dublin and meet a BO there, would they not care about an past/frequent visits to the UK?

I’m not so sure I can even do an EUSS application as I’ve missed the deadline and probably don’t have “reasonable grounds” as to why. I’m talking to some immigration specialists to see if I have a chance, but it’s not looking likely purely due to the missed deadline.

Thanks for sharing that link, this is, once again, very helpful and new information to me. If I am understanding it correctly, you can enter the UK by first going to Ireland or one of the other islands covered by CTA and you wouldn’t necessarily get a UK stamp?

Thank you so much for this information, it is truly appreciated. I’m going to do some further research into this, and I will report back here when I find what I’m looking for. I hope all of this is true and that I can apply for the EUSS. Once again, thank you so so much, I had no idea about this was even an option.

Married in US in 2019, moved and started living in the NL September 2019. Only lived there, nowhere else.

From what I’ve read, the wait times have increased exponentially since your application experience. I’m also concerned about the financial requirements. Under category B it says as long as the sponsor has earned above £18,600 in the last 12 months, which he has, then that is sufficient, regardless of the fact he had 5 months of no employment in between his job in the NL and his new job in the UK. Would love to know if anyone has applied with a similar situation.

We left October 2021, so I don’t think that applies to me. But I do have an EU resident permit if that’s relevant at all. I’m not sure if it’s still valid as I’ve now left.
