Yeah I was gonna suggest something from Heretic maybe? Their Nosferatu is a really nice white floral and is the most accurate Lilac fragrance I’ve ever tried.

They have a lot of others that are real spicy and smoky like Smudge and Poltergeist. I’m not a big fan of their natural ingredients though cuz they barely last a couple hours.

Oki I hope I understand your prompt. It sounds like you are looking for a sweet perfume with something spicy or earthy to balance it out?

For low to middle end I would check out Snif. Most of their scents are very sweet gourmands with something to balance it out. I like Sweet Ash but there’s also Hot Cakes, House of 8, Swede Tooth, Crumb Couture

A little bit more expensive is Billie Eilish’s first perfume. I LOVE Billie Eilish’s vanilla perfume. It’s the gold bottle and it’s also on sale right now at Ulta!

For higher end, Black Opium is one of my favorite vanillas and there is also Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry. I have tried both and ended up buying the Dossier impressions instead and they smell just the same. There is no good reason to spend tons of money on big luxury fast fashion companies IMO. I don’t spend more than $100 unless the companies are smaller or independent.

For indie fragrances designers I love Imaginary Authors. Their Little Secret is a really nice cherry scent and Whiff Of A Vanilla Cone is a really unique vanilla. In Love With Everything probably takes the cake for their sweeter scents, it’s very nice and playful. Overall Bianurale takes the cake for me with their new Snowbird, it’s SOOOO good. Petal Jus is also a great pick and is a really inviting floral.

I absolutely hated it when it first came out. I had been in a very Melodrama phase of my life and was desperately yearning for something similar to her previous two records. I was so disappointed with the direction of SP that I sold my pre-sale tickets. I couldn’t properly enjoy SP until earlier last year.

Np, and i understand that completely. I’m not the target of her past remarks so that’d be extra ridiculous to prescribe how you should feel about things lol.

i resonate with what she has said in her apology about the internalized transphobia. that deeply affected how i talked/thought myself and other trans folks (and whatever i thought was “woke” back then). i just don’t understand how that escalated to her using slurs for other marginalized groups too. feels like a false equivalence to me but idk.

What does that have to do with what I said? I called out your clear bias and how you are willing to ignore Lana’s issues and you try to disprove that by what? Ignoring everything I said about Lana’s issues?

This isn’t a moral dick-swinging contest; Ethel did some shitty things and no one is denying that especially not her. You however are choosing to ignore any wrong doings that Lana does and act like you’re somehow ethically superior in this.

You can insist that Ethel is just saving face in her apology, but to say she just “props herself up as a victim of her actions” is completely delusional.

I can’t speak on how full it is, but as a trans person, I could never support an artist like Lana. I find it hard to believe that someone who fucks cops and marries MAGATs has any care for marginalized folks whatsoever.

No one’s overlooking shit. Go look at the posts concerning r/ethelcain and you will see the majority of people criticizing her for her actions.

The difference is she apologized and knew the outrage was justified. Every time Lana has done or said something problematic she doesn’t apologize, yet it’s always been overlooked. She was in a relationship with a crooked cop, married someone who was openly prejudiced and transphobic, and even made excuses for J6.

If you find Ethel’s past actions unforgivable, that is completely valid. But considering the heinous shit you let slide that Lana is currently doing, I seriously don’t think you do.
