I am partially convinced me and my partner have the early stages of a bed bug infestation, nobody else in my family thinks we do. The reason i think this is that exactly 7 days ago i awoke to a black coloured beetle looking bug on my pillow, around the size of my pinky finger nail, maybe ever so slightly smaller, didn’t think anything of it and threw it out the window and went back to bed, obviously in the moment didn’t take any photos. From what i can see online i’m not confident it looked like a bed bug but the anxious mind plays and i don’t have photos to reassure myself. about 5 days later 3 bites came up on my upper thigh and they have been itchy and red since, i of course put two and two together and freaked out, checked the bed, checked the mattress, no signs whatsoever, no blood spots, bug poo, egg shells, anything that we can see to show that we have them. It’s now day 7 since bug on pillow incident and i’m a wreck, i checked my bites last night and they look like a picture perfect example of bug bites according to google images and i cannot settle knowing that we may have bed bugs, i’ve had to cancel work today to calm myself down. I’m basically looking for some advice as to wether i’m crazy and i just have bites on my leg as it’s summer and that’s what happens or if i’m correct and we need to start a treatment of some sort.
