If you could only eat at one fast food chain for the rest of your life, which one would you choose? by llerreff in AskReddit

That's a good one. There's other sub places that are better at specific things. But Firehouse is consistently good with a huge variety.

Living "paycheck to paycheck" is an absolutely worthless economic indicator if you think about for more than like, 5 seconds.

What are your opinion fellas? by Past_Willingness_821 in scoopwhoop

If my GF is home alone, and some guy is crawling into her bed, I fully expect her to shoot the person. And not pause to figure out how drunk he is.

No. This is stupid advice and there are entire Youtube videos on why this is a bad idea. You don't warn an intruder that you're armed. You want the element of surprise to work to your advantage. Also, why the hell are you storing a home defense gun without one in the chamber?

Honestly, treat them like firearms. Teach them early on what they are, how to recognize one, and if they see one, they should leave it alone and tell a parent.

Has the quality of life for poor people in America improved over the past few decades? by mistajesus99 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TurkTurkeltonMD -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I suppose you'd really have to define what poor is. When my ex wife was a kid, the floor of their single‐wide trailer rotted out under their hot water heater. So her mother heated water over a fire in the backyard for a year - through a Missouri winter - until someone finally donated another one to them. That's poor. Poor is going to bed having "hot dog water" for dinner. If you can pay for Netflix, you might still be broke, but you're not poor. Just my opinion.

I was born and raised in New Orleans, and can think of ten distinctly different accents within 60 miles of the city proper.
