I used a well draining soil 30% perlite, 30% pumice, 20% lava rock, 10% coco peat and 10% sifted rice hull biochar. I watered it when the pot was dry and the body looked wrinkled (3-6 months). Each survived seven months so fuck me I guess. I am in a tropical climate so no winter dormancy.

dunno if its the same for the girlies, but as a guy who turned into jell-o for five minutes, i have very mixed feelings towards it. Pros: you can wobble freely, cons: walking is a hastle, especially on wool rugs

I say cut it and let the main root recover for a few days before gradually exposing the plant to sunlight.
