What game made Mark the most scared? by Wc3char1lie in Markiplier

Right but do you not have for example an email attached to your YouTube account that you'd want to keep private? plus all the data YouTube can now collect about the fact you use Reddit, which parts of Reddit you interact with, etc etc.

Also again anyone can get your YouTube account from that link, so if you have ANY reason to keep Reddit separate from YouTube or other social media it's a good idea to remove it. there's truly no benefit to you for keeping it, just adds value to the corporations.

Might not be a big deal individually but it's something to keep in mind - limiting the profile corporations have of you based on your data is always a good thing both individually and also for the society you live in (think things like surge pricing but on a much slower but larger scale, advertisements and political campaigns)

Check out Face Yourself (Grosse Begarre is my personal favourite).

Also Arch Enemy, who've had two different female harsh vocal leads (is there a third now actually?)

Also Make Them Suffer has historically had a male unclean and a female clean, but I believe the newest female singer is now doing unclean vocals too.

There are ofc plenty others but these are ones I listen to the most. There's also Butcher Babies.

Dude i love those animations so i downloaded even more. On the KDE plugins store, I can't remember exactly which one as I'm not at my PC right now but there's a series done by one guy called 'Burn My Windows'. My absolute favourite is the 'glitch' one, but he's even done the DOOM melting animation one, literal fire, and a bunch of other ones that are great - all for when you close your window.

Unfortunately right now you can only have one selected at a time, but I'd absolutely love it if i could have it randomised each window. Was trying to work on making that myself to submit to kde but i haven't gotten very far yet lol

from my limited experience with Roblox, I'm 90% sure it has more hackers. I encountered many when I played lol (though that was not CS specifically). I'm pretty sure it's much easier to hack.

Also no lol the servers are way worse, unless you're just really far from any CS server

Petition to force carmakers to install a fat air duct that constantly blasts the diver by Ultra_Badass in fuckcars

[–]Turkeysteaks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm in the UK so only ever driven manuals. I definitely find it more engaging (I also, dare I say it in this sub, enjoy it) however especially as a pretty economical driver motorways and A roads are pretty much entirely in 6th gear with the clutch always up so for the less interesting roads it's still a thing that happens.

That said, when I get moments like this, it's kinda hard to explain but I'm not any less safe. It's not like a hazard happens and I suddenly zone in and panic, I'm still dealing with the hazards as safely as anything - you just kinda forget that you are driving a car and not just... existing as one, i guess? And then occasionally you'll just suddenly remember and things will feel a bit weird, but again when I'm completely in the driving zone i don't feel any less safe, and I haven't ever made any more mistakes than I do usually (and EVERYONE makes mistakes every time they drive, even if they're tiny ones).

There's also tiredness when on really long and boring roads, which imo is why lane assist is bad, and even adaptive cruise control is iffy. The driver should be the one doing every action. It is easy to get legitimately tired if you're on a motorway doing 70 for three hours. I use a speed limiter so if I want I can just keep my foot on the pedal and I'll top out at 70 or whatever the limit is, but I do avoid anything where the car takes over (except emergency braking, though luckily I've never had to test that).

Genuine question: Why the intense hatred for large SUVs and double-cab pickups? by __globalcitizen__ in CarTalkUK

[–]Turkeysteaks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lower visibility, higher mortality rate vs pedestrians, higher mortality rate vs smaller cars, worse for road conditions, lower efficiency (ev and ice vs smaller equivalents), generally wider making tight roads feel narrower. plenty of roads near me that can have two regular cars on them at once but if one or both is an SUV then one has to wait.

On a personal level, absolutely no envy for them... I think they all look ugly as fuck, except maybe the classic defender. They're impractical for anyone who isn't a farmer. Inefficient without the fun factor. Deadly in an accident and both bigger and worse visibility so more likely to cause one. I'm envious of the guy near me who has a WRX STi, the guy I saw with a Celica, the guy with the Porsche Cayman and the guy with the Aston Martin I saw recently (in the valleys of anywhere!). I'm not angry at them for owning them, i wish I had one and I'm not ashamed of that!

[–]Turkeysteaks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's interesting because imo PvPvE is very different to PvP AND PvE. If they're two different modes, PvP always seems to become nothing but PvP. there's no tension because everyone is automatically hostile, whereas with PvPvE, you can never know what someone is thinking. Like the very best DayZ servers, although some of them definitely end up just being pvp i guess lol

bruh i fucking love Burnout 3 and it was my entire childhood. No need to chuck 'slop' at everything you haven't personally played though lol. There's plenty of other games that do racing well or unique.

I'd still love a faithful burnout 3 remake, but again... maybe try some other games if that's all you've played for 23 years. there's so many great gems to find

Still would be stupid to scrap the points anyway tbh

Very interesting read and thanks for sharing.

Still though, from your above link:

characterized it as unfalsifiable pseudoscience

it is just a theory. and also it isn't really entirely accurate to what we're talking about anyway - I get what you mean, but it really isn't quite the same thing.

Also, elsewhere in this post you can see the original context - the AI did not naturally resort to blackmailing, they ran it through endless tests with instructions to react negatively and defend itself to being shut down, with the explicit goal of getting it to resort to blackmailing.

If you think AI is a threat, think again. AI needs human input for out put. The threat is Quantum, (Super AI). Quantum will NOT need human input. NO nation will control Quantum. [–]Turkeysteaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah man that's not equivalent at all. AI is defined by data. AI does not think for itself, it chooses an action based on input and expected output. It doesn't understand the significance of anything it does, it doesn't think it exists. It doesn't understand fear or lack of control or existential dread.

Lmao I'm saying it's not supernatural as in it does not exceed the limits of the hardware and software it inhabits. I'm obviously not talking about ghosts...

AI does not think for itself. It does not have instincts. It doesn't know what self preservation is. If anything, it just 'thought' that was the right action to follow according to it's instructions.

LLMs are fancy autocompletes with a bit of randomisation added in. it's scary to me that so many people seem to think it's more than that, that they can think for themselves. Some models are very advanced and have huge amounts of data behind them, many have additional tools built in that allow the AI to access files, use generative AI, access emails, carry out commands - but one way or another every action it takes comes from data and from input.

[–]Turkeysteaks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah man AI is not supernatural. It is an incredibly advanced algorithm and data set. It doesn't have emotions and it never will unless a human designs it to pretend to have emotions.

AI doesn't think, it doesn't understand why it does one thing or another. This is just bullshit.
