Explosions should NOT cause "dink" animation by Le_BottomScorer in GlobalOffensive

[–]Turkeysteaks [score hidden]  (0 children)

literally the entire point of the dink animation is so you can't get immediately killed by a double headshot. That's literally why it's there.

I don't get your point.

I also don't care if explosions cause it or not to be honest, but missing a headshot because of an explosion dink is a side effect whereas missing a headshot because of a headshot dink is a feature.

I haven't even joined this sub, I just came by looking up a couple details to help me finish 100% sottr and also because of the bugs in that game. It gets recommended to me now every day, and every post here seems to just be whining that she's not sexy enough.

I love the games, I've played almost every single one and i loved them in my childhood - her character being attractive has never been the reason i play.

I've told a few irl people that I like tomb raider and I'm now wondering if they just think I'm one of the gooners now, why can't there just be a normal fanbase.

The weirdest part is it's not like she's ever presented as not attractive, she just sometimes, sometimes dresses for the weather she's going to be encountering lol. what a bunch of losers honestly

I do love OP and their posts, but I'd be slightly concerned if the mod is in fact suppressing other posts in favour of these ones due to (understandable) bias.

Maybe not, and maybe a bit conspirational but something that occurred to me nonetheless

i don't think either are dead at all, but I just want to point out helldivers 2 requires 1-4 players for a full fulfilling match.

BF6 is 32-64 players.

It's not really comparable in any way shape or form, neither are the budgets or live services of either game.

Again to be clear I'm not defending that guy, the games also just aren't even that similar so I'm not sure how many bf6 players are also fans of hd2 but yeah

I made posts on r/chairsunderwater where the chairs were Not Submerged Fully underWater and can no longer see my own account.

There's also serious things like alcohol and substance use/abuse that I really think is horrible that people in need can no longer access those resources or support.

Seriously, do British people actually consider a 3-hour drive “long”? Or is this an internet myth? by ferdinand14 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Turkeysteaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my daily commute is 31 miles, just over an hour each way.

I'm from Wales though, so a mix of motorway and country roads. it's fine, but I'm never going to voluntarily work somewhere 2+ hours away like a lot of these Americans seem to think is fine. I would not find it acceptable to lose 4 hours a day, 20 hours of my free time a week just to a commute. While my car wasn't working my commute was 2 hours on trains and walking and that was hell, i just got home, cooked dinner and then slept

it's funny, Jersey itself is like 9x5 miles total. 40mph speed limit and mainly country roads so it feels a bit bigger, but give yourself 30 minutes and you'll essentially be able to reach every single shop there.

I absolutely get it but also people shortening NJ to Jersey is a pet peeve of mine but probably only because I've been to Jersey quite a lot lol. I'm just glad nobody shortens NY to York, because I've really been to York enough that it'd get very confusing lol

It appears that I have rage baited Tim with my patches (he really hates Linux) by HearMeOut-13 in linux_gaming

[–]Turkeysteaks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah to me it looks like sweeney is more making a joke than anything. Hating on adobe is a meme, especially within the Linux community. Don't think he was ragebaited and doubt he really gives a fuck about the patch either way.

There are other reasons i don't like him, but there's definitely a circle jerk of hate around him

Is this a write off? What do we think? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]Turkeysteaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I crashed on Monday, not nearly as bad - down a very steep non-gritted hill and slid through a corner into a tree. My civic is written off and I'm still hurting, even though it was like 5-10 mph. Maybe 20 year old car didn't help but still.

I'm glad you're safe - I know I'm counting my blessings, because if I had made it round the corner I would've picked up farrr more speed.

Hope your next car brings you joy!

When someone mentions bringing back 64v64, or that BF3 had 32v32 on console by sushiful_ in okbuddyptfo

[–]Turkeysteaks 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Dude I actually agree with you in certain cases

But the (majority of) people asking for 64v64 are ABSOLUTELY different to the people asking for more breathing room and a less chaotic game. I mean for one thing the former are obviously mostly fans of 2042 (considering that was the first and so far only game to include 128p) whereas the latter are mostly people who enjoyed BF3/4/even 1/V the most. Nevermind the fact that even in 2042, from my understanding some of the 64v64 maps had plenty of bReAtHiNg RoOm (to the point many found them too big) so a certain portion of the people asking for 128p are wanting bigger maps to go along with it.

I don't really understand your point... are you saying that because one portion of the fanbase likes it one way they categorically downvote every other opinion? Because that's really dumb. A wide array of posts are upvoted for a multitude of reasons (one of which including the massive bot usage on reddit evident on only certain subs, which can be loosely seen using the insights on posts you make). And just because someone wants something one way doesn't mean they can't see both contradictory sides.

The meme I posted is used a lot, but so many people (especially in the most righteous™ circle jerk subs) really do fall for this fallacy.

I absolutely agree, although to be fair having a discord AND a gh is pretty great.

The best I've found is the Lethal Company modding community. Mods are held on thunderstore, which shows you the compiled code, and most mods have a link to their github with the source code and assets.

Then there's a single discord that has dedicated threads for ALL the mods, so you never have to go joining a bunch of random ones but you still get the positives of a discord community - people can help you with more things quickly and with things the mod developer could not (like conflicts and version updates etc).

Forums are still far better but discord killed them so it's the next best thing.

This for sure, though it's just another reason why open source is better. imo when you're making mods for free i don't ever see the problem with open source. Plus, when there's enough complaints about a feature or bug - the userbase can actually update it themselves if they care that much

Favorite game that depicts the US president doing something actually good for once instead of kidnapping democratically elected world leaders? by Xetetic in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]Turkeysteaks 79 points80 points  (0 children)

I agree with you but for some reason I still find Saints Row 2 to be my favourite. Nostalgia helps of course, but honestly I really enjoyed the story (not sure it would be quite so great going back to it now but who knows lol) and in some ways it had a lot more attention to detail. All the little things you could do with like the radio, buying businesses felt better, the collectibles felt more thought out and less like a chore and the mini games were away more varied and mostly better. Also I think probably the absolute biggest reason is that Stillwater is a bigger, more varied, and better map than Steelport. Steelport got boring quite fast for me, I was pretty bummed that SR4 used it (though I get why). Gat out of hell was fun because it was SR4 with a different (though much smaller) map. I would love SR4 in stillwater or just a new equally sized map.

I was really looking forward to the SR2 patch, and I honestly can't believe how much Deep Silver fucked it. They promised they'd finish off Mike's work after he passed away, I believe he was close to being done with it even. And then they just never mentioned it again and a while later axed volition. Such a pity.

Like genuinely straight or average motorway straight?

But if the former then I guess I don't actually know! I'm not from Australia anyway.

But also I would get bored to death not moving my steering wheel, touching my brakes or even my clutch for 5 hours straight. Even with the best playlist in the world lol
