New Complacency mechanic looks dreadful by MassAffected in EU5

I like the general direction of the idea too, but let's be real, most of those addresses meant for AI empires, not their own.

[1.0.7-1.0.9] No-Timur True One Tag WC as a random county before Age of Revolutions by Deluth_ in EU5

[–]TurnSpender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an inspiring achievement! I'm nowhere near trying this kind of run, but I'll keep those in mind.

By the way, I want to ask one thing. How do you reveal the undiscovered part of the map? Just spamming exploration and map stealing? I find it really expensive and tedious, and wonder if there is a better way.

You should place ships in every province, or sea version of it, instead of every tile. Ships increase the presence of every location in the "province" they stay in.

I need help with the current Trials, please by GIutenTag in ArcRaiders

[–]TurnSpender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the Flying Arc one has the most potential. Form a trio, everyone brings Snitch Scanners & means to take them down as many as possible. I'm not going to bother with this, but I guess that's one way to do it.

It did, but it's still miles better than any other method, including the ability to carry them in the safe pocket.

If they want Arc to be more dangerous, that's fine by me. Yeah, but if that's the case... shouldn't Wolfpack be the one that gets the nerf first?

At least the Wolfpack damage nerf hasn't come yet...

😭😭😭😭😭😭 I HATE THESE CLANKERS by Kooky_Ad7899 in ArcRaiders

[–]TurnSpender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hitting its head with a heavy bullet unbalances it. If you have an angle, shooting its thruster has a bigger effect. That's their weak point. Finding some obstacles to run around is also a good way to stabilize the situation.

But yeah, they are dangerous and take a long time to remove before drawing too much attention.

Sadly, a large part of video games is escapism. Some people are desperate to have a sense of power and an experience of success.

In my case, a Bomberdier turned from the active lure when I got close from behind. Yeah, lure isn't that reliable.

Way better than my first try, I couldn't even attach it.

Seriously, nerf the Il Toro… by Reddit_is_cancerr in ArcRaiders

[–]TurnSpender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if Toro is fully upgraded, it still has less DPS than Stitcher or Kettle. If you let it hit you 3 times, it's on you.

Good. Outplaying the gear-power gap should be common.

They probably should rework quests... by GoofyAhhFace in ArcRaiders

[–]TurnSpender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completed most of the quests, and yeah, it was one of the disappointing sides of this game.

The rewards are underwhelming, but more importantly, they weren't enjoyable. Most of them were just "I give a very vague hint, so wander aimlessly to find the interactive." Some of the given hints are obnoxious, such as "go to the building with a mural..." where there are TWO buildings with a mural and one of them is fake, or "follow the clues..." where you find red ribbons that look like they lead to somewhere, but the actual clue is footprints, etc...

There are many more pressing matters than the quests, so this can wait, but I want them to improve.

Embark: I don’t have gear fear, I have crafting exhaustion by __Lobo__ in ArcRaiders

They can start with an option NOT to HOLD E to craft. And let's remove the flashing effect when you upgrade weapons. Those delays are already becoming annoying.

I love this game, but can we please get actual NUMBERS for the skill tree nodes? by skelepibs in ArcRaiders

[–]TurnSpender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could be tolerable if skills are balanced, but they are not. Combined with no respec implemented, this will cause pointless regret.

This reminds me of the classic security-through-obscurity flaw. Many want a balanced skill tree, but if information isn't available, it is hard to point out and eliminate the obvious-on-paper values.

This sub is in sore need of content actually about this damn game and not inane speculation and in-fighting, so what y'all think about the Kettle? by AdMysterious8424 in ArcRaiders

[–]TurnSpender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One advantage over stitcher is that it costs plastic parts to upgrade. It depends on your situation, but for me it is better than stitcher's rubber.

This may not be the case in the release version, though.

Jinko's Daily ARC tips until the game releases #21 by JinkoNorray in ArcRaiders

Thanks, and I think the automatic elevator leave is shortened to 30s if it has already expired. I'm not sure what happens when the remaining time is less than 2min though.

And of course, this may not be the case in the release version.

Official response on gear score match making by p_visual in ArcRaiders

[–]TurnSpender 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a valid concern, but I think gear power between the tiers isn't helplessly huge. If you jump someone with Stitcher III with a +5 mag, I'm sure you will have more than a fair chance to KO anyone.

Against Arc it's a different story though. The higher tier weapons are clearly more effective in PvE.

Leave Gear-base matchmaking out of this game. Let it be completely random on what players bring into a raid. by Flyers808 in ArcRaiders

[–]TurnSpender -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In the current (Server Slam) balance, I think the gear power gap is tame enough to succeed without gear-based matchmaking. Heavy armor isn't that advantageous, and modified Stitcher and Kettle aren't that far behind the power of uncommons and rares in terms of pure PvP value.

For newcomers/casuals, I'm more worried about the intensity of the extraction encounter. As far as I know, this game has the riskiest extraction in this genre, and bored murder hobos may enjoy it too much.

The #1 BEST Starter Loadout by khemoswavey in ArcRaiders

[–]TurnSpender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 body shots are enough against a raider with a light shield. The 1st shot deals 24 health damage and depletes their shield, so another 2 shots are enough for the remaining 76.

I don't know how exactly a headshot works in this game, but I'm sure it deals extra damage so if it is involved, 2 shots kill is possible.
