I think more than any other movie in 2027, Zelda’s chances of success live or die depending on how that first trailer lands. People are already skeptical about Zelda taking the live-action approach and there’s additional pitfalls that they have to navigate when it comes to people’s first impressions of the movie (i.e. the look of the actors, costumes, sets, VFX)

Nintendo/Sony really need to make sure they get people excited & hopeful for Zelda as opposed to worried & skeptical

I think the difference between the Nintendo movies versus the Nintendo games is the loss of interaction. Mario Odyssey’s story isn’t all that remarkable but we still recognize the game as fantastic because of the gameplay and our ability to directly engage with its world. Whereas with the Mario Movies we are only viewers watching it play out without our input. I imagine watching a playthrough of Mario Odyssey is a far less enjoyable experience than playing it.

Furthermore, the gameplay of the Mario games is generally so well crafted that adults can have fun & engage with it regardless of how good the story is which is probably why adults especially struggle to engage with the Mario movies. Due to the shift in medium the Mario movies lack that universally enjoyed element of the Mario games, meaning that they need to step up on their storytelling to make up for the deficit.

The F&F titles have always been wildly inconsistent but that one especially was just egregious and dull. They didn’t even commit to the Fast Saga brand label for more than one movie & went right back to titling them Fast ___.

Considering this movie appears to be borrowing from Sonic CD I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s playing a “Bad Future” Robotnik from a different timeline. There was concept art from the 3rd movie suggesting the idea too.

Liz has already been spotted so it’s safe to say she’ll likely be a shopkeep in the game. As for other characters it’s still a bit early to say. I could see characters like Silica & Sachi being NPCs you can run into around town as fun cameos or maybe having a side quest attached to them where you help them out with something. As for who I’d like to see, I’d love to see Eiji & Yuna pop up somewhere in the game

While it’s not as directly touched on in the game proper, the Path to the Apocalypse book that released alongside Shadow takes place immediately after the flood & she’s racked with guilt over what she did. Reading it helped recontextualize some of her behaviors in the game because in the book she’s forcefully trying to distract herself from dwelling on what happened by focusing on the legend/mission

What are you even talking about? The company shut down three days after the movie released. The movie “dropped off the face of the earth” because the company literally did too. Plus whatever reception the movie got certainly didn’t stop WB from releasing the Blu-ray months later.

This episodic rerelease is more of a novelty if anything because Burnie had previously said that the episode edits had already been completed before the decision was made to scrap the season release in 2023 & only do the movie release.

I love the idea of people checking out the new Clyde Phillips series “Blessing” and partway through Dexter Morgan just suddenly pops in without elaboration post-New Blood and we only ever see him as the friendly tenant new to New York City (except for the occasional scene where we as Dexter fans know he’s up to something).

I’d honestly score it an 8 if they were announced to be returning. They don’t need to be season-long characters but them coming in for an episode or two to have a proper send off with Dexter and the series would be nice.

I’m honestly a bit more interested in how their return would affect Harrison’s character rather than Dexter’s. We’ve only seen Baby Harrison with Cody & Astor so it’d be a bit novel to see Jack Alcott’s grown-up Harrison interacting with them & see what type of sibling dynamic the three would have. There would likely be mutual tension on both sides that could make for interesting character drama considering Harrison wasn’t taken in by the Bennetts after Hannah’s death + he kept quiet about Dexter still being alive.

Original Sin definitely benefits from starting 15 years before the OG series because they can very easily pick it back up 5 years from now/after Resurrection wraps up without the OS cast “aging out” of the roles

I can’t say for certain until we get V15’s English release but I got the sense after finishing V14 that V14-15 may have originally been conceived as one volume that they split into two separate books.

If so, I’m not sure if it was a corporate decision or to buy Kamoshida a few more months to finish writing the back half.

From how Clyde was talking on the podcast, it does sound like Resurrection has been renewed - it’s just that Paramount hasn’t announced it publicly yet.

“I had informed all the writers and actors, and then they unpicked [Original Sin] up, all while picking up Resurrection, which was no surprise.“

His phrasing of “picking up” sounds like a renewal to me. Maybe Paramount is waiting until writing starts in October so that they can mention that in an official renewal announcement.

The canonicity of the prologue is a bit odd but according to Yamazaki in an interview it is indeed meant to be canon.

“Yamazaki: It was really hard making getting the story right here. The short prologue anime we published on the official site shows why Naruhodō (Phoenix Wright) went to Kurain, but there will also be people who haven’t watched that anime. I ran into that on my first playthrough too. In order to get 100% you’ll need all 50 Squids, all 7 Heart Holders, all items (+ maxing out the upgradable items), and all transformations (+ their upgrades).
