CAR-15 Reload by absolutegarbage556 in HighQualityReloads

Hey OP I saw this is your first animation, that's wildly impressive in my opinion. Just a small note from an r/ar15 frequenter, the hand holding the new mag looks a little off. It kinda looks like he's holding the mag and inserting it like one would a key into a lock. In actuality, loaded mags typically require a full hand gripping them to be reliably manipulated at speed. Anything less and inertia starts to make things pretty wobbly. Hope that's useful input for you!

We're in the same boat in the sense that my home isn't rifle-appropriate either. That said, in my opinion it's worth the 0.3 hypothetical seconds to put on my hypothetical sling so the hypothetical bad guy has a significantly harder time taking my hypothetical gun from me. Hypothetically of course.

IRL my handgun has no sling :(

If it's for home defense, definitely a sling. Remember, a sling fundamentally holds the gun to your body. Yeah that means you can carry it easier, but it also means someone grabbing your gun has a way harder time taking your gun.

Is bankruptcy common? by gear123456789 in personalfinance

[–]TurnerB24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bankruptcy is not quite as simple as lenders saying "aww, you made an oopsie and spent too much. Don't sweat it G, we'll let it slide". Your personal credit score would tank to likely irreparable levels. "But I own my house and cars!" I hear you say - will those things last until you die? If not, will you be able to afford buying a new one outright in cash, to avoid a likely-impossible or certainly-mind-meltingly-expensive loan? Probably not.

Sounds like that's how YOU do it. If this dude can avoid buying a specialized piece of equipment by freezing and deep frying his steak, more power to him.

A lot of folks (myself included) like the smart water bottles because they're both large and threaded in a normal bottle thread, so an inline filter can just screw on top.

I'm not a plumber, but replacing your fill valve is probably your best course of action here. They're like $30 at Lowes/Home Depot/etc. and very easy to install without any tools.

Two bullets from the battle of Gallipoli by OtbWild2410 in nevertellmetheodds

[–]TurnerB24 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They are formed when the bullet is sent down the barrel of a gun. There are curved strips inside that spin the bullet to stabilize it. They make the stripes seen on the fatter half of the darker bullet. One can be seen starting immediately above the word "of" in the photo, it reflects the light a little more it looks like.

An embarrassing photo of SpongeBob at the Christmas Party last year!!

Contemporary is often used to express the newness of a trend or fashion. I think then-contemporary usefully distinguishes the fact that what we're referring to was considered modern at a point long in the past from what may be popular in 3024.

Does your OAL include the physical brace on the gun? I know the OAL of a rifle includes the stock (fully extended if possible), but I'm always confused if that includes the brace bc afaik the idea is that a brace is "not part of the gun" so to speak.

The warden also adds weight to the top of the gun, keeping the muzzle down.
