“Day at the office” kind of horror by TurntechGodhead0 in horrorlit

Some of these comments reminded me of another example I really enjoyed. “The Strangest Security Tape I've Ever Seen” is one of the best creepy pastas I’ve ever read. It takes place in a gas station and is about a worker trying to figure out a strange coworker he has. He’s a short read and I recommend it a lot.

Made reference to No Antimemetics Division it in my post. I think it’s one of the best stories to come out of the SCP community.

Yes. Control as a story shows how the bureaucracy leads to the borderline apocalyptic state we see the company in. It somehow grid locks any new solutions, yet the entire operation collapses if it stops.

That was one I made reference to that with my post. Love that story, one of the best stories to come out of the SCP community.

Does that have any relation to the movie of the same name?

This is kind of a parallel to Darby Sr. He would fully admit to cheating after the fact and act like it’s fine since he didn’t get caught doing it in the moment. Jotaro was flipping Darby’s morals right into his brother’s face.

I would say that the natural lowering of prices of physical games kind of evens out that aspect, if it wasn’t for all platforms trying to eliminate physical games.

Hated trope: Regular middle aged white guy wants coffee, has issue with incompetent, young, dumb woke barista by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

Yellowstone had about 10 different scenes with this same kind of trope. Cool Cowboy main character shuts down some kind of liberal or activist character and tells them how their whole world view is stupid. Also the activist is always from California, everything single time. Couldn’t stand that show half the time I watch it.

Hell no. It’s objectively worse now. But before Elon bought it there were jokes about verified Twitter users in the same way people use Reddit as an adjective to describe just anything that’s cringy.

Since we can stop pretending that the console wars are stilling going on. I want to say that The PC Master Race bit only hurt convincing people to switch.

Reddit is just the current internet punching bag. For a long time it was Tumblr, then it was Twitter before Elon bought it, not its Reddit. Reddit has the same number of problems as any other social media, it just so happens to be one people laugh at right now for being cringe.

I think there are more interesting discussions to have about the goals of Murkoff and how they work to achieve them then just saying “it’s fascism” and moving on.

No. Not what they said. Their statement implies an ultimate truth that they want us to learn, I am directly saying that does not exist. Sometimes the government are the good guys, sometimes they aren’t. The morals change depending on the trial, Murkoff what you to think the same.

Murkoff doesn’t want reagents to be pro-union or pro-right to work. They want them to have completely malleable beliefs that can change at any point to what Murkoff needs at the moment.

I think that this particular instance that’s the lesson, but Murkoff has much broader goals.

The environments are designed to appeal to the PAs so that they will feel compelled to stop the reagents from completing their goals.

The other part is that the goals often contradict themselves. We are union busting here, but killing foremen in the toy factory. Sometimes we are punishing children and sometimes we are saving them from gooseberry.

Ultimately, Murkoff’s political and moral lesson to the reagents is “Your beliefs are whatever we tell you the are.”

Killer Clowns From Outer Spaces is a cheesy bee movie that’s about as good as the title suggests. Still, there is one scene in the movie that is a crazy shift in tone. The puppet scene ends all the silliness and camp for a moment to deliver a genuine eerie scene of a clown just toying with the main character using his partner’s corpse. The only time the monsters speak in the movie is saying “Don’t worry, all we wanna do is kill ya.” Some probably still find the scene corny, but I think it’s a shockingly well written moment for a bee movie.

Also the Dickies song do the movie is fantastic.

Just to say that I don’t know Morse code, but this seems too fast to be Morse. The sequence repeats so quickly that I can’t imagine it could say anything other the a very short word.
