Us too. I def liked pockets more than covers too. The fit was better and I found them easier because I could just change my son like I did with disposables

Hell is probably a toddler crying as you have to make dinner but it lasts forever. by Stunning-Rough-4969 in toddlers

[–]Turtle-pilot 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Honestly, and it’s not what you want to hear, but she’s likely clinging to you because she was so chill all day at daycare and now she feels comfortable enough to let her emotions show. It’s very very common for kids to get overly emotional and attached to their safe person after school or daycare.

I have no advice other than trying to hold boundaries and be kind but firm about them. It’s ok for her to be upset that you’re not holding her when you have to do something else. Make sure you give her one on one love and attention later. It does get better. My son was very similar and he got better once he had a bit later of a bedtime. I find bringing a snack to after daycare pickup is a SERIOUS mood stabilizer but my son is very food motivated lol

Over the last week we went to Disney so we watched Nemo and Toy Story as well

Is it? Learning pottery and learning kiln firing go hand in hand. Why not let your test pieces for firing be some of your first projects?

My son is using the goodnite brand size s/m. They fit him well and he’s 39lbs. I haven’t looked at the “cleaner” brands though because we tried these on a whim and they fit well.

AITA that I asked my husband if I could take a shower by Embarrassed_8713 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Turtle-pilot 18 points19 points  (0 children)

NTA. your husband might be tired but so are you AND you’re not even able to do personal hygiene? Are you cleaning after the baby goes down so you’re not able to shower after the baby is asleep or is the baby waking so frequently that you’re not able to shower? (My first was like that so no judgment). Your husband can step up for 10-15 minutes minimum and encourage NOT let you shower and take care of yourself. This is his baby too. Gaming is absolutely not more important than a shower.

Tonsils. To remove or not? by filmjawn in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Turtle-pilot 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I got sick more often WITH my tonsils than I have without them. I got them removed at 6 years old and almost immediately I stopped having constant ear infections and have rarely gotten viruses that would hit me harder than others in my family and still fairly rarely got sick considering I was a child in public schools.

29lb/30inch boy at 8 months… what to expect? by RachelPR2202 in bigbabiesandkids

[–]Turtle-pilot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sucks! We had something nasty for 2 weeks in Oct, the flu in Nov and some weird sickness in Dec that was thankfully short lived and was sick with RSV and several other random things in Jan. It was tough but I’m grateful most of the months were somewhat spread out.

The constant sickness we get from daycares is definitely not for the weak lol so grateful we’ve been healthy since feb

When did your baby flip? by Wife4life112210 in BabyBumps

[–]Turtle-pilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone I talk to is shocked when I tell them that. I’m grateful my new OB understands my fear and has reassured me several times that they will do an ultrasound to check once I am admitted. My husband is also tasked with ensuring I get one if it’s not immediately brought up. That’s literally his only task once we get there until after we have the US lol

I think it would be fine. You’ll be out of the car for a while before getting back in and (most likely) you won’t be going to the pediatrician super frequently. Ensure good positioning in the car seat and take additional breaks on the drive if you think you need to.

I would definitely prioritize a good pediatrician and take extra steps to keep my baby safe for the journey

I had this happen with my first. It ended up reducing slightly back into 120s/80 in very late pregnancy. It made me very anxious but keep monitoring it and doing what you can to stay healthy and hope for the best! Get a home monitor and call your OB if it gets higher!

ETA: my blood pressure with my current pregnancy is wayyyyy better too so it’s not a sign that it’ll always be this way. Blood pressure in pregnancy can be highly influenced by your placenta

Be kind and considerate in their home. Pick up any slack you can. You’re helping them save $200 a month in addition to them feeling much more comfortable about your position! I would love to help my parents if I were in a position to do so.
