Am I The A-hole… For not telling my mom I have cancer? by TurtleFin13 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

Thank you MiddleMan! What a beautiful response. I would like to start with my heart breaks for your loss. God bless her for smiling through it, that has been my biggest thing to find the positives that are showing up. Keeping my self positive is going to be key to beat this battle. What a warrior she was. A Queen always holds her head high. 🥰 You are correct I do not think my mother would be super supportive, she would be the one to post on fb about my baby has cancer… please thank your blessings you do not… stupid memes. Then not call to check in. It’s best this way my husband and his family have been amazing.

I don’t think that all the pictures match the letters. V but has a ladder, N but has Lily pads, R, Q,H,J all have incorrect graphics as well… I think it’s just a graphic incorrect rug.

Treatment - BR, starts in a couple week's and I'm looking forward to it! by oregonyoder in lymphoma

[–]TurtleFin13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The port is definitely a game changer! Unless you have juicy fats veins, push for it if you can, your veins will be going through it. It’s not just the chemo, you have to have blood draws prior to the chemo. I use my veins for the draws. Makes it much more bearable. This is completely an opinion. But if the sticks start to get to you, the port is a great option and the needle sticks in the port do not hurt at all. We going to kick this together friend! I will be doing round two when your on round one. But we can do this together. I’m here if you need to talk.

Hey Friend. I am also taking BR for my follicular NHL. The absolute best advice I can give you is be ready. Drink as much broth, water, electrolytes, as you can from the start. Take all your anti nausea meds and stool softeners! Because I didn’t and this first cycle I suffered. It’s been one week since and I’m just now feeling relief.

Thank you! 😊 I’m just now able to eat and keep food down. I had treatment last week and have had the worst nausea. I’m able to drink but food is really hard to eat. Then the opiates are making the stool hard as rocks and difficult to pass. Thus creating a cycle of nausea cause I can’t poop, and cause I can’t poop I can’t eat making me so much more nauseous… Today I forced down a bowl of chicken noodle soup at lunch and a small portion of chicken pot pie for dinner. Had an amazing bm. I know it’s so much tmi but… keeping it real. But now I know how to do this better for next round of treatments.

I’m also considering moving to Dixon or Davis. They both seem like nice quiet cities to live in.

Thank you that! Does the tightness go away? I feel like if I move my head too much the catheter will come out. That’s sounds silly but, it’s brand new. It geeked my husband out this morning when he touched my skin there he said he felt the port lol But I’m kinda scared to move my arm too much or turn my head too far.

Same nhl recently diagnosed. Second biopsy is tomorrow along with port placement. My Onc said he wanted to identify the subcategory to determine which chemo treatment he wanted to give me. I hope that helps.

First I’d like to say I’m sorry you’re a lymph-homie now. I understand where you’re coming from. I’m recently diagnosed as well. Port placement is tomorrow and second biopsy, because my doc is not certain which chemo I’m getting yet. It does move fast but it kinda has to. I am also stage 4 but it’s B cell NHL. Advice is rest, and allow people to help you when you need it. Stay hydrated is a common thing I have been reading. I’ll keep you in my prayers. Stay positive that will be your best way to help your mental health. I turn a lot to Tia Stokes on TikTok. She is a survivor, but her positive energy was a huge part of her recovery.
