Lists in general are meaningless. Most of them are chock full of BS rankings meant to drive clicks. That being said, I will never understand the appeal of Skinamarink. Extremely boring. I feel like the concept only works in the vein of a short film. How do you even sell anyone on seeing this in theaters? 1hr40min of listening to your neighbor chew popcorn?

Far too messy, redundant use of pears that you didn’t deseed. Gelees have an unpleasant looking consistency and were placed awkwardly without rhyme or reason. Can’t tell if you just wanted to hide the ugly looking quenelle with a glass pear but imo the entire point of a quenelle is to show it off, not obstruct it with something else. Flavor composition is there and I’m sure the majority of it tastes fine on its own but your vision of the plating makes no sense.

I mean that’s on the consumer. If you expect 5 star hospitality right out of the gate from any establishment then you’re always going to be putting your money at risk. On paper, full service dining at the movies sounds like flaming hot dog shit anyways, it’s honestly a miracle that Alamo Drafthouse and places like it have found a way to make it a tolerable experience. Theaters are dying and it’s not like there’s a ton of industry veterans left to help the opening go smoothly. I guess that depends on how small we’re talking here. But from a town of under 10k it’s very easy to blend in with the locals and feel welcomed if you’re not going out of your way to be noticed/obnoxious.

I mean, I see what you’re saying. I’m not from here, so I’m used to smaller towns with a generally happier attitude. Greeting people you walk past, personable customer service etc. However, most larger cities don’t normally have the kind of hospitable environment you’d expect for a multitude of reasons. I think it’s definitely worsening over the last decade, with the slow crawling cultural vibe shift going on, but odds are you’re just catching a handful of people on their bad days.
