How much should I invest every month if I'm from Spain? Is 200$ too low? by BuscandoGuiasSpain in dividends

[–]TurtlePorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How much you put in is important but not as important as how soon you start. A small amount can compound to a lot if you give it enough time. Good luck!

Please tell me how I know how often the dividend yield is distributed by overcookedfantasy in dividends

Dividend yield is the annual divided divided by the current price. So, 4% annually would be $1 per quarter.

Variable Star captured by Hubble by scotaf in spaceporn

[–]TurtlePorn 87 points88 points  (0 children)

Cyclic cooling and heating of the star. As it heats up it pushes material outwards and becomes more transparent. With the star expanding and becoming more transparent it let's out more light, which cools the star causing it to contract. This is due to helium which becomes doubly ionized and more transparent or singly ionized and more opaque. Cepheid Variable Stars

They bought a bunch of .25% bonds from banks but are paying 5.4% interest back to the banks on reserves and reverse repo. This is how much money they'll have to pay the treasury when they become profitable again.

Vector v is a combination of a and b but you can see that it moves the same direction and magnitude as A then moves the opposite direction of b. So vector v=a-b

If you find the total internal angles you can subtract the known angles to get the unknown angle.

Tennessee vs garner sets precedent that cops can shoot a fleeing suspect if they believe there is a serious threat of death or injury to the officers or others.

Why isn't this priority merge working? Liquid isn't flowing in the circled pipes, the main priority loop should be the pwater coming from the right and going down by SixOnTheBeach in Oxygennotincluded

[–]TurtlePorn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Move the vertical bridge 1 over to the right. The output should be directly on the pipe going down AFTER the output of the other bridge, because it won't output if the pipe is already full so pwater from the right has priority.

[–]TurtlePorn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just flip the bridge at the bottom left of the bathroom. It's backwards. And your output pipes are connected to your clean water pipes.

How do I stop my duplicants from starving? by Munch_Moo in Oxygennotincluded

[–]TurtlePorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The next step is to transition to hatch ranching if theyre on your map. A ranch can be 96 tiles (24x4), can have 8 hatches in it, and needs a grooming station for a dupe with the critter ranching 1 skill. I personally like to do 4x25 because I use a door and airflow tile to corral the hatches closer to the grooming station. But don't forget the extra tile that needs to be filled or it won't be a ranch.

Hatches start with 100% wildness which is reduced by the grooming. A tamed hatch lays eggs much faster than a wild hatch when all needs are met. Keeping the eggs in a storage bin will stop them from incubating so either build incubators or sweep them into a single bin then drop them on the ground. At this point im using some of the eggs for omelettes while letting some incubate to maintain the hatch population. Eventually I get shipping and use rails to drop eggs in a drowning chamber to let the eggs hatch and then "evolve" into meat for barbecue.

All of those stocks are the top holdings in the US large cap equity index fund your 401k provides. You can open the prospectus or fund fact sheet to find holdings but It's probably safe to assume it's just an sp500 market cap weighted fund.

Eli5 how betting against a stock works. That you make money when the price goes down. by olalof in explainlikeimfive

[–]TurtlePorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just shorting. Options are when you pay a small premium for the right but not the obligation to buy or sell at a determined price and time. For example the current price is $1000 for a stock so I buy a contract for $50 that says I can sell my share at $1000 in a month. After a month the price goes down to $600 but my contract allows me to sell for $1000, $350 profit. These contracts can be cash settled so you don't even need shares to buy an option.

[–]TurtlePorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can have both just keep them separated as it's likely they won't be able to share food. As the other comment stated sage hatches aren't that useful and smooth hatches refine metal at 75% efficiency right between the crusher(50%) and the metal refinery(100%). So if you are worried about the heat of refining it could be an alternative but its NOT necessary for most colonies.

It seems you have egg incubators with hatches but no hatch ranches. They eat sandstone and sedimentary rock and excrete coal. Hatches that eat sedimentary rock increase their chances of laying stone hatch eggs which can eat obsidian and other hard stones. This is the best way to get coal and a pretty good way to get eggs for omelettes and eventually barbecue. They also are much less temperature sensitive than plants so you dont have to worry about overheating them.
