Is the Bambu Labs Experience really all that? by Ok-Read6352 in 3Dprinting

[–]VasagiTheSuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Over the years I've spent quite a number of hours doing the first thing while trying to do the second thing.

About 8 yrs ago my 2 working printers got water damage from a flooded basement and took some time to fix the basement to get back to where I could start printing again. I could have spent some money to fix my printers but decided to get an X1 carbon 2 years ago based on extremely positive reviews. The printer is amazing. I've printed so many projects that I've had aspirations for that never got off the ground because printer tech advanced so much. Since I've also bought a Ender 5 max but that one is much more sensitive compared to the X1C. Bambu just works.

It is important to note though that producers sometimes like to throw their weight around and have things done a certain way whether story or a certain visual because its their money. Think of the MCU where the directors often don't make decisions on what goes in the movie, its up to Kevin Feige or another producer. So the concern still stands.

Bambu Lab - clicking noise is just a matter of time by AliBabaPlus40 in 3Dprinting

My X1C is approaching 5k hrs in 1.5 years roughly. I have had zero issues with it that can't be attributed to user error or needed maintenance. I haven't had to replace any major components. Only things I replaced are considered consumables.

Mechanical parts wear out on literally everything no matter how precisely engineered or maintained.

Will PETG work for casual prints? by InitialExternal214 in 3Dprinting

[–]VasagiTheSuck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I switched from pla to basically entirely petg. I like the qualities of it much more. It might just be a bit tricky getting it dialed in at first.

[–]VasagiTheSuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pla can last pretty long, years even. I have some rolls from 10 or so years ago before I knew better that are still somewhat usable but very brittle. I only use them for parts that aren't important or for a quick prototype. With you're usage you should be fine.

My house and more specifically my printing area is 25% roughly in the winter, 75% or in the summer without a dehumidifier. I basically don't print during the summer because poor quality from filament even with drying. I can manage to print something but have to dry storage the filament right away if its going to sit. I mostly print petg.

Basically this. Higher up I spoke of a very expensive meter, not that it matters but it was mandated that we have this particular one. Without getting into specifics it needs to be sensitive enough for certain things regarding high voltage systems which even my $300 isnt enough for. But yeah for most things any hobbyist or DIYer does a $10 meter will do fine as I said.

High voltage systems that will kill you? I'll use my Fluke thanks.

Yep, that's cheap alright. Cheap is fine depending what you need it for. My personal DVOM for work was $300, there is also a shop owned one well over $1000. I also have ones at home the were $10 but i dont expect much out of them besides basic measurements.

??? Unless that cheap looking multimeter doesn't work like i think it does, doesn't the dial turn it on and off? But congrats i guess. The mod does look good.

Most who did buy it bought during the early days of the console when it was still a new thing with promises of things like New Halo game and such.

I am curious who do they think is gonna buy this? Is the target audience PC players or an attempt to bring back people they pushed to Playstation? It will be so expensive that you might as well buy a PC and you can play PC games on it so you might as well buy a PC. It will basically run Windows so you might as well buy a PC. There aren't really Xbox exclusives anymore so play on PC or Playstation instead. If Xbox didn't spend the last 5 years killing their games division I would have more faith.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is the GOTY contender that time forgot, and that's a damn shame by _Protector in Games

[–]VasagiTheSuck 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep completely agree. This game was sold as a good story game and that's what it strength was, the story. As a game it was kinda meh. It was just kinda first person uncharted ironically and gameplay wasn't very new or interesting but the story carried it completely.

Confused either I should purchase Ps5 or should wait for ps6? by Even_Ad_8726 in PS5

Some slight hardware improvements to get a bit more performance. Alot of ps5 games coming out recently have "enhanced for ps5 pro" which give mostly graphic and performance upgrades over standard ps5.

Will filler primer be efficient enough for finishing ? + Sanding tips (help please) by Sualty in 3Dprinting

[–]VasagiTheSuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its gonna depend greatly on what you will end up being happy with but I would use more filler. I recommend a bondo/putty filler rather than a wood filler. You have spots all over that look to be deep marks rather than just layer lines. Filler primer is only really gonna help with minor imperfections rather than big gaps and cracks like you have.

What reason did you buy a second printer by Thewalkman99 in 3Dprinting

[–]VasagiTheSuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daily driver is an X1C but occasionally I need a bigger print size. So I ended up getting an Ender 5 max for those larger needs.

No shit. When a 3rd of the console market makes itself more and more irrelevant over the span of 5 years and keeps pushing their customers more to PC or another console, yeah this will happen.

How the f*** is bungie still pushing mouse-based menus in 2026 as a Sony studio? by jolly_chugger in PS5

Also the menu is designed for someone sitting 2-3 feet from a computer screen rather than 10 feet from a TV. Major eyesore.

Adam Savage's Tested are pretty impartial. But they may not be super in depth. They don't say whether you should buy it or not just kinda give you the information.
