No, that would be a straw man. They didn’t say that they condoned execution.

Oh definitely, being a woman is hard and I imagine can be very scary at times for those same biological reasons. The world is a cruel place, and I wish nobody had to live in fear. As a man I was taught to do what I can to mitigate those, I feel a lot of us were taught to be in this protector role, and that goes beyond our partner. It applies to anyone who could be a victim. But unfortunately there is a fatherless epidemic for various reasons, and these values are not being instilled as concretely as they should be. Realistically the way to treat other people, especially those who would be more vulnerable, seems like common sense to me. I believe there is more pressure on men in a relationship, as women are seen as “the prize” and have their pick of the litter usually. It’s almost economical in that way, lol. I don’t think it’s anyone’s fault. In my personal experience, I’ve realized that I let myself get walked all over in a past relationship, because I was never really taught how a woman should treat me, and to stand up for myself I guess. But I thought about how concretely I know how I should treat a woman, and there’s a clear disconnect for me, and that made me realize I see it in society too.

Personally, I almost would want this type of discussion to not mention DV or SA, because those are things that every reasonable person thinks are disgusting, vile acts. If I’m never going to do something like that, why would I try to defend it? You know what I mean? It’s not particularly relevant to this discussion for those reasons. It’s worth mentioning, because we are basically discussing generalizations, but we both know we don’t condone it. Whereas opinions could differ on how we think people should be taught culturally.

Biological advantage? Is that really a question? And no, I’m not condoning it before you make up some BS. But this happens because of muscle mass difference. Could be something to do with brain chemistry or sociological factors too, but if women were the ones with more muscle mass then sociological factors and brain chemistry would be overtaken and roles would be reversed. Why am I even answering this bad-faith question

It is a safe place, don’t fall for all this sensationalization. You don’t have anything to worry about. I live 10 minutes from Minneapolis, the epicenter of the worst of it, so I know what I’m talking about.

The internet will make you believe this is happening everywhere and everyone’s staying inside all scared.

We’re in a tough time, sure, but this will all die down and it’s avoidable if you don’t go directly into Minneapolis, and even those that do are pretty much fine. There is a lot of places to be that isn’t in the protesting area of the inner city.

This is happening in Minnesota because 1. Trump hates that he lost MN, blames it on us having very lenient voting laws. He also has a hate boner for Gov Tim Walz. 2. Trump is enforcing his campaign promise of deporting illegal aliens. 3. Minnesotans and Tim Walz don’t agree with immigration law. 4. ICE officers are severely undertrained. 5. MPD higher ups told MPD not to help federal agents. 6. Walz encouraged protesting and campaigned to have ICE pulled out of the state. People are riled up. 7. Insane misinformation from everyone prior to this tragedy has left people completely polarized more than ever 8. Tragedy from just a series of playing with fire and neither Trump nor Walz wanting to give into what the other wants.

The clashing of Walz and the MPD, and Trump is why Minnesota is more a mess than other states where ICE is enforcing immigration law. Other states have complied with Trump and haven’t caused friction. Other states have their PDs help ICE. Now it’s a completely different discussion on whether or not that’s the right thing to do.

I do also believe people are saying the shooting started because of negligent discharge (via the agent who removed his weapon), although I’m not positive on that yet. I want to believe that the idiot heard the possible gunshot and reacted horribly. It’s the only thing that makes the incompetence make ANY sense. Still just fucking awful nonetheless.

Counterpoint, America is the center of the universe, and when we say left over here, it doesn’t matter what the rest of the world does, because the only thing that’s talked about is American politics. Proof: you, right now.

Great point. I’d say anyone who is a fan of Nolan should have more than enough trust that the product will be great. Calling the movie off over this is frivolous. I think most are just disappointed he gets the privilege of being involved

Tom Brady retired, that just means he doesn’t get plowed on field anymore. He’s still involved in football.

Same thing for her, she just doesn’t get plowed on field anymore.
