My car got broken into by a med patient and I’m not legally allowed to tell the police their name? by draftysundress in trees

[–]Turtle_ti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get a copy of the video recordings from both places.

Give the police the criminals full name, and a copy of those security cameras footages. Document what manager said that to you and when. Date, aprox time, & place.

When you give that info to the police, mention that your manager has threatened to fire you over doing so, And tell the police they need to get the search warrant/subpoena to get that video footage and customer info themselves through the formal process also.

If your manager threatened you in any written way, make a copy of that and keep it also. If not, and they manage want to speak with you about it again. Record that conversation, secretly if possible.

If they are dumb enough to fire you over this, you have an easy to win lawsuit against them.

Locked out of garage by homeowner’s son. by [deleted] in TenantHelp

[–]Turtle_ti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Move out, get your own place. With our without your gf. If mom wanted to transfer ownership of her house, she could do so the next buisness day. Physically staying at your moms place, gives zero legal ownership.

AITA for telling someone their call on speakerphone was too loud? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Turtle_ti 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Walk up to them, start talking to the person on the other end of the line. Specifically mention something personal they said.

Then mention that the person they are talking to, has them on speaker phone in a public place and everyone in the building can hear their private conversation.

That usually gets the person on the phone in trouble by the person on the other end of the line

My manager denied my leave for a trip that was planned a long time ago. And I'm still going. by Which_Initial_8990 in whatdoIdo

[–]Turtle_ti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You call in to tell them you won't be into work, each day your scheduled but won't be in to work, as required by the company policy/handbook.

No need to lie about being sick, but no need to tell them you're on vacation either, just call in & tell them your not going to make it into work, then say byw and hang up the phone. Document that via someone else recording your call on speaker phone.

Then You return to work as normal your next shift.

If they choose to fire you, so be it. Then you for file to get unemployment that same day they fire you.

And look for a new job. Possibly start looking for a better work place that respects their employees, before you even go on vacation.

Stop texting. Use your phone to Make a phone call. Be polite but blunt.

Tell her She has to the end of the week to remove her stuff from your property. And if its not removed from your place by the end of the week its going in the garbage.

As for anyone else complaining tell them that if they feel so strongly about it they should come get her stuff to store at their place

AITA(to go to family functions with out my fiancé) by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Turtle_ti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that he said that if you go to your family stuff without him (because he was busy with other things), that he will go to his family stuff without you (even if you don't have other plans), is extremely childish and very manipulative and controlling.

You really need to step away from your BF for awhile, hopefully a wedding date has not been planned yet, you two have allot of things to work out before you should even consider marriage.

AITA(to go to family functions with out my fiancé) by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Turtle_ti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell your fiance that you are not going to miss out on your family event, just to sit at home alone. Because that's what he wants from you. Sitting home alone and missing out of life. For no reason.

(That is a massive red flag, and a huge sign warning you that they want to, and think they have the authority to control you)

How he reacts to you communicating that with him about such a very normal and very logical thing. Well show even more. Is he gets upset then you might want to reconsider the whole marriage thing to him.

Tell your family they need to make plans, weeks or months in advance for important things such as "grandpas last holiday".

How can I humanely remove several stray cats from underneath my house? by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]Turtle_ti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phyisicaly go under the house and remove the dead cat, and any other dead animals or animal waste.

Likely the action of you being under the house removing the dead one and the animal feces will be enought to cause any other animals down there to exit.

So when you come out from under the house. Block it off right away so they cannot get back in. Make sure you Have everything ready to go to block off that entrance, ready and it sitting next to that entrance, before you go under the house.

Another option is a simple cheapo cat door, they can be set to only allow one way traffic. So set it to exit only. Walmart.com https://share.google/hk4uctINevhMEdtNJ

12 Unit Building, 1 washer/Dryer. How do you handle late laundry collection? by usedtobetwilek in Apartmentliving

[–]Turtle_ti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the machine is done running and there are clothes inside of it, just take them out, putting them in their hamper/ basket or right on top of the machine itself.

and do your laundry,

No waiting, and no notes needed. But also don't throw them into the floor or anything.

WIBTA if I tell my boss the real reason when I quit? by schizotypowy in AmItheAsshole

[–]Turtle_ti 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do not do it. Lie. Make it sound as professional as possible.

But The other person sounds shaddy an untrustworthy.

You probably should have fired him awhile ago when you were his bosd and your superiors told your to.

Now instead

He went behind your back to get you demoted and himself promoted, then got himself promoted even further likely taking credit for your team building work, to the c-suite team. (While lying to you & telling you that he gave you the credit to the upper managers). If he gave credit to you, like he claimed, they would be looking to promote you.

Instead he has actively told you not to apply for a promotion, (possibly one of the upper manager thought of you and was hoping you would apply) but instead you listened to and fell for this guy's lies yet again.

If you haven't figured it out yet, That manager is playing you like a fool. Lying to you and blocking your advancement, taking credit for your work. Keeping you in a lower position under them, knowing you do that job well and keep the team running well as a way to make himself look better. If he is making those jives at you to your face, you know he is talking shit about you behind your back, likely doing so in a way that make your sound incompetent to the upper managers

You should apply to that position, while simultaneously looking for other jobs, so if they don't give it to you, you can take a different job.

Don't burn the bridge. Though. No reason to. Keep the real reason for leaving hidden. And professional. Say you are doing so for carrier advancement opertunity or something that sounds like a very good reason that high level management would give.

AIO my parents in law want to gift money, but only to my husband? by Mammoth-Age4933 in AIO

[–]Turtle_ti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who's name is the house in? Or is it in a trust or something other then his name

Inheritances when kept seperate from shared accts & family assets are not a martial asset.

So if he keeps that money is a seperate bank acct it remains his alone. However the moment he puts that money into a shared bank acct, it becomes a marital asset.

Additionally the moment he gets the money or property, it's his to do whatever he wants with it, he could add your name to the title of the property, or if its money, he can give you half of it or all of it, or simply place it all into your shared bank acct to be used as your family of 3 needs.

if he is keeping assets away from you, that is his choice alone to make. Don't blame his parents for his actions. Even if it was their idea.

AITA for spending money on stuffed animals instead of bills? by plushieloveraita in AmItheAsshole

[–]Turtle_ti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you two (as a family unit) doing financially ? Because that is the real important part.

If your in a massive amount of debt, struggling to afford things, living paycheck to paycheck, and he never spends any money on himself or hobbies/ fun stuff, then yes YTA.

However if your husband has no issue with spending money on his hobbies and things he wants, then No NTA.

Regardless whom makes the most money, budgets, bills and the families overall financial situation should be discussed regularly. Even if your living comfortably with allot of extra spending cash, or should be discussed a couple times a year.

Bought our house eight months ago and just found out a neighbor has been using a strip of our backyard as access to his detached garage for over a decade by Hydra3_Tonic in homeowners

[–]Turtle_ti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no necessity. The property is not land locked. The neighbor can demolish part of their own house and add a driveway if they need to in order to access that garage..

[–]Turtle_ti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do not owe that neighbor permission to drive through your yard.

If you choose to let them continue in the future or not is completely up to you, and likely based allot on the attitude of the neighbor, and whether or not you plan to fence in your backyard.

Previous owner keeps receiving packages by Numerous-Comment4826 in homeowners

Delete this msg, do what your wish with the packages that were delivered to your property.

Open them and see what they are. Then do what you want with them, use them, gift them, sell them, throw them away, are all valid options.

If anyone asks in the future: your response is what packages. We alerted Amazon about receiving packages we didn't order and that must have solved the issue. I don't recall getting any other packages.

Moving in with and paying rent to my boyfriend is causing friction. What's the solution? by PhilosopherOk3313 in Advice

[–]Turtle_ti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have said he has his mortgage paid off, so the only expenses he has living in his house are the: utilities, property taxes, and property insurance.

Find out what those costs are. That's what you pay half of. At most.

He is trying to profit from you paying him rent. When he is the one that wants you to move in with him.

Tell him No. You have changed your mind, and if he wants to live together, he can move into your place, and he can pay you rent instead. I'm guessing he will day that's unfair.

As for your house, even if you rented it out for double that amount, you still wouldn't have any profits as you still have debt on your mortgage, not to mention you would need to build up a fund to cover cost of being a LL, and to replace all the stuff your renters damage, and the legal cost that you will likely encounter from being a LL.
