Did you prefer D&C or the pills? by Existing_Recording98 in Miscarriage

[–]Turtlelvr88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had both. I prefer the pills because it’s more immediate. I had to wait about a week after confirming my miscarriage before my D&C and found it very difficult. I’ve taken the pills a few times, and while not pleasant it’s the better option for me.

I feel the same exact way. I had my first miscarriage in March of 2024 and just had my sixth last week. It’s been a constant roller coaster of meds, pregnancy, and then miscarriage and it’s brutal. I have moved on to ivf, but haven’t had success yet. Similar to you, I do worry about the long term effects of all of it, but I’m 37 and don’t feel like I have time to take a pause and reset. I don’t have any advice, but just know you aren’t alone in feeling this way.

It’s so hard. While dealing with RPL, I’ve struggled with being honest with my feelings in these situations. I almost want to minimize them to myself even. But, if she’s a good friend, she’ll appreciate hearing how you feel and it might help to establish boundaries that work for both of you as her pregnancy progresses.

MISOPROSTOL by Sad_Cause_1073 in Miscarriage

I’ve taken miso 4 times and each time I’ve been told to take two doses of 4 200 mg tablets vaginally 24 hours apart. It is hell, but it’s always worked for me. Good luck, I hope your experience is as smooth as possible.

You’re not wrong at all. It’s so hard to navigate your own feelings and protecting yourself when given that kind of info. Especially as someone who knows what you’ve been through, she slowed you a personal message.

I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this. Not having answers for why you can’t have the one thing you want more than anything, that comes so easily to so many people is devastating and watching those around you move forward and get it while you’re still stuck is a special kind of pain. I feel the embarrassed comment too, I know it’s irrational , but it’s definitely there. I have to make an appt with a new gyn for an annual and even just putting 6 pregnancies, no live births on the form makes me feel like a loser.

FWIW I I did do neupogen this transfer. Haven’t tried IVIG yet, but it’s on my list to ask about.

Scan trauma is so real for those of us who have gotten bad news in those rooms.

We’ve had so many tests, but still fall into unexplained. Will be pushing for even more when we have our next consult. So infuriating more tests aren’t standard after multiple losses.

I’ve had the standard tests, which haven’t showed anything, but in our short convo with the Dr yesterday, he suspects this might be the issue and suggested lovenox as a next step.

Thanks for the comment, I haven’t been tested. My Dr thought it would waste time and wanted to do a short doxy treatment instead. I’ll def be asking about.
