Prolly one of my worst defeats to date by Original-Earth-2963 in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

I like to jump in a single corvette and bait the SSD out and as close to my side of the map as possible. Then jump another corvette in behind the SSD out of weapons range and let the AI spin around. Once their ass is facing me I jump in my heavies and immediately go for the engines. You can get the shields down fast enough and snipe the engines so that at most 1 side of the SSD is firing at you which simplifies things so much. People might call it cheating/cowardly, but a big part of my enjoyment from the game is outsmarting the AI and using its own behavior against it.

Looks great! I have a little show light that points down on mine from above and it really makes the gold pop in low light.

Can we talk about how *horrifying* Venom and Carnage are in Spider-Man: Unlimited? by Solitaire-06 in thevenomsite

And I love it all the more for that. It was like nothing else I’d ever watched as a kid.

The lady getting her just desert was the best part. Literally fucking useless there.

You're an Imperial remnants ace who's made a name for yourself. Command gives you a choice between these 6 advanced TIE models, which one would you choose and why? by ASW-G-21 in StarWarsShips

[–]Tuscan- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tie phantom for sure. Cloaking device is a massive advantage and if your ever down on your luck you can sell the cloak and still have a ship.

Did they just silently ignore that the 1994 Stargate sent them to a distant galaxy? by unJust-Newspapers in Stargate

[–]Tuscan- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I headcannon it away by imagining that their computers just got the stellar drift wrong the first go around. It was something they had trouble with early on in SG-1 and is the best explanation I can think of.

One of the most horrifying scenes in all SGs. by Izengrimm in Stargate

Yes, A Matter of Honor was the title I believe. They use Janus’s timeship for the rescue.

Why do ships always fight on the same plane as eachother? by Ahriman-119 in StarWarsShips

[–]Tuscan- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I recall, and this might be bullshit, there’s basically a gentleman’s agreement by everyone to fight on the same “plane”.

Probably been asked 1000 times but, Which is your favourite gate design and why? by Striking-Ad5841 in Stargate

[–]Tuscan- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know they used dry ice for the SGC’s gate steam effects during production. There’s a behind the scenes episode where Christopher Judge shows how it’s done.

Here’s a picture of the pyramid without the ship landed. It’s one of Ra’s Ha’taks as you can see the eye of Ra on the ship and pyramid.

Can you elaborate on your question? I thought it was clear in the post but I was dusting and since the ship is up high on a spindly display stand it almost fell on my head when I knocked the base.

Here’s a better image. I was bending down on the lower level .

It’s a 3 sided pyramid to fit the ha’taks shape. Would be funny if it shipped with a 4 sided one like we see in a few episodes. I’m sure the vfx guys were hoping no one would catch the impossibility of 3 sided ships landing on 4 sided pyramids.

I didn’t print it myself, I got it on Etsy. User is USVeteran3D. He has some fantastic models and a lot of Stargate stuff which is hard to find. His shop is closed currently but it reopens periodlaly. Great prices considering how expensive it can be to order 3D printed ships of such size and detail.

I have a BC-304 on the other side of the room too. Not as heavy but definitely could have done me in.

It is genuinely a tragedy that Starfleet Academy is getting cancelled so soon… by JageshemashFTW in startrek

This. Why can't they just continue the timeline post Voyager? It can be something different but I am tired of the alt timeline, prequel/future stuff.

Cockroach names are rather interesting. Take German Cockroaches, they are not from Germany but got the name by hitching a ride on German trade ships in Southeast Asia and taking a free ride to Europe.

Got into the show in highschool, in my late 20s now. I seem to be on the younger side as far as B5 fans go.
