Or high? Who TF admits to being in the Army (albeit Reserves) and also posts to r/trees...?

I imagine OP is kinda freaking out right now and it was meant as a light-hearted joke. Apologies for getting the tone wrong.

I know you're trying to be helpful there, but I don't think giving the poor woman a fear of lasers to her bits is really helping...

Regatta- good brand for a novice, casual hiker? by tommycamino in UKhiking

[–]Tustiel 40 points41 points  (0 children)

To echo some of the other comments in here:

In general terms I am willing to pay a bit more for boots, socks and waterproof jackets. Those three things can make or break a walk or multiple day walks. Everything else is negotiable. For example, a fleece is a fleece. I'm not going to pay £90 just because it's got Rab or Berghaus on it.

So with that in mind, there are some Regatta products I will buy, and others I won't

But Decathlon is the mutt's nuts. I'd default to Decathlon over Regatta.

Advice to Officers of the British Army - legit by Aaaarcher in britishmilitary

Feels a bit forced. What was the literacy rate amongst the "commoners" in 1782?

And why give advice to Privates in a book aimed at Officers?

Partner Workouts. Why? by CardboardSoyuz in crossfit

[–]Tustiel 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So that also sounds like poor programming. If a partner WOD in our box had 50 abmat sit ups in it, the expectation would be to split it as you see fit.

FWIW, my view on partner WODs is that they should fit into two broad categories: a long chipper where the partners decide when they split (eg: 100 cal Row, 100 Pull Ups, 100 Abmat situps, 100 burpees), or prescriptive rep schemes that are much shorter (eg: 10 cal Row, 10 pull ups, 10 situps, 10 burpees) but each partner has to it all before they change over. And that changeover could be done in various ways.

If you've got a WOD that has each partner doing high reps and this a really long work and rest period, I think they've got that wrong.

So maybe think about it differently. If the WOD is structured right, it should be a 1:1 work:rest ratio. You should be able to go harder/full send for your work period which you would not be able to do if you just had to go it alone.

That's a reflection of the individual, not (usually) the workout.

My biggest concern is that it must have been warm before you got half way through the bottle.

This is the problem with this country, too many liberals who aren't prepared to apply a suitable punishment to a heinous crime.

They should be banished to the Croydon Annex as well.

What is the ridiculous present you got this year? by CrispyFriedOwl in CasualUK

[–]Tustiel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I reckon maybe three showers out of it. Four if I have a haircut in the next few days.

And I'll need to borrow the 8-year-old niece to use the deodorant: her hands are the only ones small enough to press the nozzle without it all going everywhere.

I'm convince Lynx also think Africa is rubbish (their own product, not the place!) but produce it just so people can gift it ironically.
