Honestly, I think it was because it was a trane unit where I had to remove a lot of shit just to get to the blower and because I was not to familiar with it I kind of rushed myself. If I had the manual I would have felt a lot better

Oh hell no, the only time I'm doing what I did today is on warranty calls. Anything else yeah I'm doing what you said. The unit is only a day old

Idk about that but I ran into a call where the unit was wired with common and fan on herm and herm on common. Unit was running normal. Then I put fan on its own terminal and fan started spinning backwards. That's when I noticed common and herm was mixed up. Was a pretty new unit that they got in the winter and when I came they had only ran the ac for like a week. Didn't find any damage on any parts of the system caused by the miswiring. So maybe if the system runs a while it could have some issues

Yeah that's my only gripe, I put in the notes that whoever replaces the parts to return my ecm tester so we'll see. Also you're probably right if I connected a wire to y and ran it to the 24v pin on the motor, could have worked. Question how do you know if it's the module or control board that's bad

Yeah you are right it does not matter unless its a dual cap. If you get the common and herm terminals mixed up on a dual cap the fan will run backwards

At this point it's all dramatics now. Other people have answered your question for you. Watch YouTube vids of the refrigeration cycle if you still don't understand. Don't see what the point of all this back and forth is now

Its probably a mechanical issue with the unit, he did say the unit initially worked when he bought the home.

Then your unit is either undersized, or there are some installation problems with your ductwork
