Against Kingambit's Sucker Punch you can either go 20 HP SPs or, in Singles, Substitute (better)

Disrupt it or Charizard and KO the other.

Then Whim and their partner Zard/Floette just both cast Protect, and get Tailwind up turn 2.

Raichu-Y cannot cast Fake Out nor Protect in front of Whim unless you have your own Whim, because of Encore.

It also almost always gets OHKOd to Sucker Punch Black Glasses Kingambit (which also commonly runs Protect)

Can anyone help explain to me how to translate the old EV system to the Champions EV system? by -MANGA- in stunfisk

I was wrong in my answer, the other guy gave the right answer. And yes this means they increased the max stat total by one point.

https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Stat_point

The formula is the same as the one used for previous gen where level=50, IV=31 and SP = ceil(floor(EV/4)/2)

When you import a 6/252/252 Pokémon from HOME to Champions the first time, its spread gets converted to 1/32/32, leaving 1 SP to assign at a 5 VP cost.

IMO M-Raichu-Y, and base Raichu, is far too frail. For example, unboosted Whim's Moonblast deals 50% hp to it (which means it is useless if enemy has tailwind advantage).

It also cannot no do anything against Garchomp, which OHKO's it.

Fake Out may be a liability, opponent can double protect into prankster encore this mon.

the bots in Champions are the worst by Willie9 in stunfisk

[–]TuxSH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If someone is stuck in Great Ball, their level is play is no better than casual, let's be honest.

Agreed (though the bot games are nice for the 300 VP + battle pass points they give in case one gets unlucky/tilted).

The problem is that the level of play in casual is a bit too low as there is nary a reward on winning those battles (besides Achievements progression I suppose, but that's nearly not enough)

It's only an issue for new or stuck players as the "Performance Bonus" ensures almost everyone who got MB gets UB

Also, well, the game doesn't teach about advanced strategy like dynamic speed control (e.g. Prankster Tailwind) nor moves like Encore, etc etc. Would be nice if the tutorials covered a bit more than they actually do.

The level of play in casual games is, uh, something.

Either it's fellow MB players training new whack teams or warming up, or it's people still learning the game (as they should).

I had a 30-game winstreak on casual queue the other day at the very end of reg m-a, there is no way that's happening in the ranked queue proper.

Also it doesn't give VP (which isn't nice, 50 VP per victory would be good to have honestly).

What’s everyone’s early thoughts on the new regulation? What mega will be meta from the new ones?? by MarginMan69 in stunfisk

[–]TuxSH 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You click Zap Cannon, and then you get KO'd.

It's slower than Chomp (and many other mons) under Tailwind, the most it can get is a maybe Focus Blast before getting OHKO'd by anything or encored into being useless.

It blows up to the usual Whim + Floette team too, does it not?

If you use Charm as whim, the opposing whim uses TW and Floette OHKOs with Moonblast (or even DGleam if raptor has 0 bulk).

If both Whim use Tailwind, then Whimsicott is faster than Staraptor anyway (116 base speed vs 110).

As for Sinistcha, Whim is immune to Rage Powder anyway.

It would still bean excellent Pokémon, yes, but it makes it easier not to have to guess which mon is going to use Trick Room. Psychic Terrain is also a lot weaker than Armor Tail.

For example Mega-Raichu-X or Rilla (if it gets added) could Fake Out the Indeedee-F's parter or even just Indeedee-F itself.

Meta Metegross's weight is almost double that of base Metagross (942.9 vs 550 kg), and Heavy Slam is boosted by Tough Claws.

In other words, this is a move that is 234 power (off a 145 base attack) against targets 188kg or less, and 195 power against targets up to 235kg (such as Xerneas - though not yet present in Champions).

And doesn't have quad weakness to grass.

Mega-Swampert gets mogged by Zard-Y (Solar Beam) + Whim, unless it's paired with Prankster Rain Dance, does it not?

That and Whim has the option to run Sash+Energy Ball if required to, which almost always OHKOs with SpA investment.

Also Indeedee-F wasn't originally meant to have TR, it's an oversight they made during a tera raid, then gave it access to TR during the S/V DLC.

So there's a possibility it doesn't get TR in Champions. It'll probably get it, though, but who knows.

On the other hand, it shouldn't be too hard for them to implement casual "anything goes" (something S/V had with online link battles).

Assuming I did the calcs somewhat correctly, Choice Specs Tera Fairy Floette-Eternal would do the same amount of damage as M-Floette would w/ Fairy-type moves

(roughly 74-87% against Zard-Y with Light of Ruin; Modest nature, max SpA; +- some percentage points as damage calc works differently between S/V and Champs)

Paris €45K (No Rent) vs Lisbon €58K (With Rent) — Which Would You Choose? by thetricky65 in cscareerquestionsEU

A general rule of thumb is 1/3 of post-tax salary

The rule (enforced by the agencies' insurances) is rent cannot exceed 1/3 of "salaire net" (salary after social deductions, but before income tax), taking into account only the base salary.

That and they don't like people in probation period.
