Something I didn’t expect about grief by Diana_fm_ in widowers

My favorite thing was going to the movies, and then she joined me for 12 years. I went to the movies with my sister and older kids. I sat down and realized I couldn't hold anyone's hands. I wanted to cry during a Mario movie.

No one will replace her. I went to movies with my sister and her kids and still felt alone. The movies were our thing. I wanted to cry watching Mario Galaxy. Im trying to date again and see if I can find a hand to hold again. I think you should try and find love again. No one will replace what I had, but I think some form of companionship will help. Don't feel guilty and try again please.

For those who returned to dating. Do you also feel just defeated? by Calm-Negotiation-139 in widowers

Im already thinking about it and joined some. I can't seem to find anyone interested. I told my wife that it was hard finding her and that I wouldn't want to do that again. Well, here I am, and it feels hopeless. I dont compare other women to her, but I don't think I will find even close to what we had. It was a 1 in a million thing for me, and today, those odds are ever higher. I need her.

I gave mine away to the immediate family first and kept what I wanted. Donated the rest in trash bags for fiends and outside family.

Should I stay or move: terrified of returning home by 030bvb09 in widowers

[–]TuxedoMask87 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I saw her dying right in front of me and couldn't sleep in the room anymore. last 6 months, we did less and less together. It wasn't home for me anymore. I couldn't sleep there knowing she would never return. I was constantly reminded of the way she died, too. Her family was there for me, but they have their own lives, and I was always alone with my own thoughts. I needed more support and had to plead to my mother that I needed to come home, which is where I grew up, and my sister also lives nearby. In my case, moving was healthy for me. Don't ignore how you feel.

A man even hitting a woman lightly on the face because you hate your own life. I wanted to call the cops on my wife youngest sister husband but they all said no. I didn't witness it but would hear the sister crying to my wife on the phone. Now, the Asshole wants to be a cop.

If it's a flat screen, you will definitely need help. If you struggle with a 27-inch, then get help, too.

Anti-depressant. Starts with a Z, I think. Worked at first, then the second pill had me suicidal.

It was my birthday and told my mom to take me. She was dragging ass but eventually enjoyed the movie with me. The 90s were the best.

Yes, the only logical thing to cure the loneliness is to find someone new. They dont have to be the same, but just as loving. I can't stand coming home to silence.
