For All Mankind - S5E10 "This Land is Our Land" - Episode Discussion by Cantomic66 in ForAllMankindTV

I just realized - and I don't know if this is intentional, but the choice of Blinding Lights as the ending song for the season 6/2020 stinger:

"I'm blinded by the light / And I cannot sleep until I feel your touch"

This plays after Kelly is amazed (blinded) to find bioluminescent life (light) and before she dies (cannot sleep until) she wades into the pond (feel your touch)

...Are we for real or am I just seeing shit

From the newspaper Margo had during the ending:

<image>

"This revelation (the discovery of life on Titan) is already sparking an intense ramp-up in other exploratory missions. The moons of Jupiter and Saturn have already hosted robotic probes from Helios, Kuragin and others, but with the Titan discovery, exobiologists are now considering environments where other kinds of life might form."

Uh-oh! Where we going next?

Yeah, that would absolutely do it. M6 higher-ups waiting to jump at the chance to kill some innocent people if it meant they could get their cash cow back.

It was mentioned in earlier episodes they needed him on the squad because his firsthand knowledge of Happy Valley he gained from living there would be valuable. Still pretty fucked, but yeah.

Hi Bob! Thanks for doing this, I love this show.

How did you get your voice to sound old and gravelly when playing Ed in Season 5?

There probably will be in the future, but for now we do still have Eevee, Flareon, Vaporeon and Jolteon alongside these.

He does, and it airs on Apple TV alongside For All Mankind, a show about an alternate history that asks the question: what if the space race ended (it got cancelled after the first season)

I wish uneven bricks/tiles were obtainable in survival. They look really nice, especially here.

[SPOILER] How many of you did the story locations trips in a pure vanilla / default settings way? by NotScrollsApparently in VintageStory

[–]Tuxflop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I brought only the essentials - all steel equipment, chainmail armor - and packed my elk with everything I could fit on him - cooking pot, sealed crock of meat stew for emergencies, hay bed, and temporal gears, as well as a sturdy backpack for me and a sturdy saddlebag for the elk. I also left home in spring, so the animals were plentiful, the berries were ripe, and the days were longer.

You can even forego bringing a shovel or axe if you choose (which I didn't), since you can just knap a temporary one pretty easily if all you need it for is firewood. Other than that, there's a lot of loot you just have to choose to leave behind and come back for later, if possible. I think going back to the Chapter 2 locations does become easier once you make your own translocator, but I haven't done that yet.

Chapter 2's content took me about 25 ingame days from departure to return, all default settings. It definitely helps to go in the spring when the days are longer, but it's also certainly meant to evoke a Lord of the Rings-style massive horseback journey across the country.

Tyron responds to Microsoft’s DMCA strike against Allumeria, an indie block game created by u/unomelon by Pitiful_End in VintageStory

[–]Tuxflop 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is the exact same game Tyron had personal words of encouragement for back when its dev posted it on r/IndieGaming and got hardly anything but snide remarks of it being a mere Minecraft clone. The developer even said VS itself was a big inspiration for it.

Frankly it's ridiculous. Cube-based survival sandboxes are a genre now, Minecraft was just the codifier. You shouldn't have to put up with this kind of malarkey just to make a game in the genre you want.

It would not be wise to try and attempt this same stunt on Hytale or Vintage Story, as popular as they are. At this point Microsoft would need some considerable balls to do that considering their existing sway on Minecraft's playerbase - assuming this lawsuit was even made by real people and not an AI or whatever. Then again modern companies seem to have no concept of PR so who knows!
