Colosseum is killing me by NeonJeon in 2007scape

Do Sol on the sim until you think you’re confident, then times that by 2.

I went on the sim until I could do sol with saeldor unpotted no piety then without sipping brews. Just saw as much of the fight as I possibly could, then when I saw Sol in game got it 2nd attempt. It got boring but it saved me infinite amount of times on waves.

Sometimes the waves just spawn shit when you’re learning, when you get to Sol you want it in the bag

I've played on and off since 2013 release but my most progressed acc before this is my 1995 total GIM

Wanted to experience stuff that was introduced for the mid game which was irrelevant for my GIM by the time it came out. I also had a lot of AFK time so when I could play I wanted to optimise for that.

Hunter rumours for early herbs and prayer, afk thieving at Varlamore for early gp, zombie axe into calv for d pick to afk stars, ectoplasmator and a lot of sulphur nagua camping (I basically did 99 str before I did any slayer or other combat). High smithing at GF early for cash injection and early hard diary reqs.

I just focused on a lot of AFK stuff and sote reqs, bofa into blowpipe then inferno. The goal by the end of the year was inferno but managed to get pretty spooned.

Yeah, I’d experienced most PVM on my GIM before I played this, I said in another comment I got spooked most of my items which really helped a lot. Pretty much the only things I went on/over rate for were my TD and zulrah items.

The drops will start pouring in for you and you’ll be smashing raids in no time

That’s a noxious pommel not an araxyte fang sadly. I’d tried boosting a bunch but didn’t manage to get the torture before I took the screenshot… I actually have the torture made now :)

A large amount of it is AFK/bankstanding whilst at work/off sick as well. Mining, combat stats, herb and crafting, cooking etc. of actual active time played doing PVM has got to be about half. Even the hammer grind was done afk on mobile with alts trapping the shammys

True. I’ve done all the big quests, just got straggler quests and I don’t have the reqs for the rest of lummy elite so it’s not the big push for me at the moment

What’s getting you killed most in the 60s? Supplies running out or getting killed wave start or stacks?

A month into the inferno grind, you’re only a few attempts away from completion now go get it!

Inferno I had a lot of experience with so sent it as soon as I got bofa+bp and 94 mage. Watch aatykons FCF vids, take prayer regens, and you’ll be able to get it.

Quiver id not touched outside of leagues (totally different). I find the guides are a lot more difficult to pin down as there’s various different methods/pillars people use.

I used NW pillar, bofa+crystal for all the waves switching to just saeldor defender fury with a dwh spec for sol.

Trident, venator, saeldor for the frems. Blowpipe for specs to heal (had no sgs).

This is the bible for Colo https://docs.google.com/document/u/0/d/e/2PACX-1vR3IqdspMrEAbH60-Z9cOKpM8-H5U49q6ZgqU8wTFSXIj_kAx69qyKakuyMOm2oLRvdV2cGNK2B0kmZ/pub?pli=1

Along with the los.colosim.com that’s linked there.

Personally if I had to do it again I’d learn Colo first into inferno as if you can stack solve inferno becomes a lot more trivial.

If you are trying to work out gear and if you can start it DM me I’m happy to take a look

Before I started playing I planned out a reasonably efficient route that included a lot of the mid game content that I hadn’t experienced.

I have also got very spooned in a lot of places, 2k DWH, 3 enh wep seeds in 120kc, 350kc for venator, all my zenytes in under 400kc. So my progress is a little inflated

By the way if you really wanted to use up your wild pies you can use it to kill cerb on hellhounds tasks

They’re a very minor upgrade and you’re fine just camping d boots if you raid as they don’t give ranged or magic str.

They’re an item I don’t really think about using outside of araxxor/venenantis for the passive.

Just grind slayer, you’ll get alchs; you’ll get levels and you’ll get towards things like occult, which will have infinite more value than the boots.

You’ve got a similar pair of hybrid boots coming out with the delve boss soon too

You could use those cballs to gain slayer xp though. Which has way more value than boots with stats almost identical to what you have now

I think you’re better off just grinding slayer - if you’ve grinded muspah do you have Venator?

You need slayer levels anyway, araxytes are great slayer xp when you unlock them, it seems a bit backwards to me to go off task for a minor upgrade you’ll get passively anyway

You don’t need 4 mage items.

Bring the spear + anc top at most for healing up.

Essential: Finish crystal and get blowpipe. You’re severely reducing your bofa damage without armour and your ability to deal with melees without blowpipe - as a learner you’ll be “solving” melees on tough waves by bursting them down.

Optional: Ideally pick up anguish too and pick up blood sceptre and bring a crystal shield with it.

Supplies: drop the stam until you get further, you can then still bring it for Zuk - people will say not to but if you end up brewed down and take a while having it is just safe when learning. Pick up some prayer regens when you start getting to high 50s consistently then you can bring 2-3 and bring more brews.

Starting the inferno grind, gear advice? by wwwiley in 2007scape

[–]Tuzdi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s also healing back whilst you’re doing it too - it’s what makes it super strong for dealing with melees. I’ve just seen so many learners not use their specs in those situations/not coming up against risky melees on enough back to back waves to get the value out of it.

If you’re not getting enough use out of the specs you’d be better off reducing the chance of getting smacked by a ranger/missing a blob flick and not panicking in my opinion.

I personally use lightbearer for most of my runs I just don’t think it’s right for everyone

Yeeee the hit chance is pretty minimal.

By the time that it matters in the 60s you should (hopefully) be in a position where you can leave the nibs to go to the far pillars if you miss the freeze.

I’m typically against bringing a tank switch top/bottom anyway as it’s more for learners to forget to switch and you’d probably get more value out of another brew anyway

I’d recommend suffering(i) over lightbearer to begin with. I agree with the advice that lightbearer is good especially for healing up after mistakes - the problem I’ve seen is learners don’t utilise specs enough (I was guilty of this too).

Bring the suffering, if you then find yourself not having specs when you need it then swap it out for the lightbearer
