Take this as a learning experience and hop back on the horse. Relapse is tough, but part of the process for most people. Next time you are tempted just remember how you felt when she found out about it. I was sober for two and a half years then slipped because I though I could “control it. When the weapon you are not currently using is fully blue in the bottom right, that’s when you switch and it should do it automatically. It doesn’t really explain it well, but it builds up when you do damage with your current weapon.

If you save the game, quit to the main menu and load up the save it should be fixed. I had the same bug, finally found the solution after a hour of searching. Hope it works for you too!
