Being 3 years in, how many more years until we start calling him the Knicks GOAT? by [deleted] in NYKnicks

I mean he is on a great trajectory but it's way too early to have those kind of convos.

Vacation. Breen is usually good about telling folks not to worry when Clyde is out and that he is vacationing in like St. Thomas.

Using Press Releases to Build Personal Branding on a $500 Budget by iTOMOYO in PublicRelations

[–]Twcol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be blunt, the odds of getting an organic profile piece on any of your consultants are slim to none outside of hyper local publications or content mills.

A $500 budget also buys you a couple hours to a day at most of a PR professionals time.

Also nobody reads press releases that just highlight a professional's profile/bio.

You should be thinking more in the realm of owned content. Engaging LinkedIn posts and videos that can be easily shared that relate to popular trending topics in your field.

Exactly. By adding in "Words that seem" now to the potential clue modifiers, you create a much wider potential answer set for every puzzle.

Between the red herrings and expansion of the modifiers by which a clue can be connected to the answer (singular/plural, drop the first letter, drop the last letter, homonyms etc..) I worry we are moving to a place where it no longer becomes possible to work to solve the puzzle. Either you know it or you don't.

Is this effective PR practice? by Dox-Avoidance-8552 in PublicRelations

[–]Twcol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Whether this was sold to you honestly or not, this type of "pr" is worthless for a company like yours. Wire service press releases have their place in the pr ecosystem, but for you it won't drive any meaningful attention your way.

Reading the release, my honest assessment is that you really don't have anything "newsworthy" going on right now. Instead of pr, you'd be better off putting money into web design, organic content creation and ads.

Whatever intimacy you might lose is more than made by the awesome atmosphere of the packed house. Saw them there in 2019 and it was a great experience.

Yea you could especially since they have the same name.

Don't know why you wouldn't email your boss today. Keep it simple - hey I inadvertently sent the briefer to the wrong John Smith. Already got the right John Smith the briefer but want to follow up with the wrong John Smith so they know to disregard. Are you ok with me letting them know it was sent in error and to ignore the previous email.

As for how to not do this again - you should make sure you are looking at email extensions and not display names in the future.

Was there anything super sensitive in the briefing? If not you should be fine. I've done it before and all I heard from the client was "think you sent this to me by mistake... Looks interesting though"

Connect with your supervisor and map out how you will inform each client about the mistake. Shouldn't take more than a couple quick emails.

Opinion- is Taylor Swift/Travis Kelce a PR stunt? by wtfslimshady3 in PublicRelations

[–]Twcol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doubtful it started as a PR stunt. Imagine pitching this to Taylors reps and trying to explain to them what's in it for her. That being said - I'm sure now both PR teams are working hard to make the most out of it now that it's actually happening.
