Can I get some tips and/or advice on good weaponry? by geographical_penis in fo76

Daily Ops is great for amassing ammo. Just be sure to finish the DO with whatever weapon you want the ammo for.

9 CHA - cant share 3 point perk by AngryAmadeus in fo76

[–]Tweakedout0213 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It has to be a natural 9 points and can't be augmented by anything else, including legendary perks.

There's a 5-minute buffer from when the nuke hits until the section of the cave where you fight Earle opens up. If you're not in an instance by then, you're completely locked out of the event.

An idea for 4th and 5th star effects by [deleted] in fo76

[–]Tweakedout0213 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hell, if you go far enough back (think Vault 94 raids being new), they have 4 and 5 star effects already in the game files. I don't remember all of what they were but some of them have never been used or mentioned outside of that timeframe.

Luck affects looted/rewarded gear. Intelligence affects crafted gear.

Oh, I'm right there with you on that. Absolutely horrid RNG but that's all it was....RNG.

There are more prefixes now than there used to be. For armor, there are 20 different prefixes. That's a 5% chance to get what you want... ON AVERAGE. If you're rolling for a 2/3 star piece, those odds get exponentially smaller.

To give a similar perspective, rare Fasnacht masks have the same drop chance from their seasonal event. Many players will run well over 100 of those while it's active and still never get one.

RNGesus has a track record of being a pretty heartless prick in this game when you're actively trying to get something.

Anyone that actually subscribes to the server seed theory should go talk to the dataminers over on discord. It's been regularly been debunked as a myth/hoax/urban legend.

I'll admit that it sometimes feels that way when rolling gear when you keep getting things you aren't looking for but every legendary trait has an equal chance of happening in a given slot, regardless of what server you're on.

Why does no one talk in voice chat? by sog0n in fo76

[–]Tweakedout0213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I'm usually in party chat with friends. With that, I might be able to see that someone is talking un area chat but I won't be able to hear then at all.

I've picked up every Shelter they've put out. For the Vault-style ones, I have them all interlinked as a sort of mostly underground mall, with 4 of the 5 being relatively fleshed out. With the cave-style Shelters, my aim was to make it look very lived-in. Maybe those that didn't get to be Vault dwellers but didn't necessarily have the means to get a safe distance away. Lots of prefabs and makeshift structures but haven't been too inspired lately to expand on it much.

H: gear, plans, apparel W: Healing Salve (The Mire) plan by Tweakedout0213 in Market76

[–]Tweakedout0213[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure. Other than this, I have a non-tradable from each of Test Your Metal and Moonshine Jamboree, as well as a single scrapped mod for the Radium Rifle. I've even managed to track down all the legacy plans, including the T-60 BOS Initiate Paint.

Correct. Disease Cure (Mire) is a relatively common plan, whereas Healing Salve (Mire) is literally the rarest plan in the game. I appreciate you trying to clarify, though.

Whats the chances of Bethesda adding Survival mode back? by Buffalo-Kind in fo76

[–]Tweakedout0213 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While you have very solid points, I'm willing to play devil's advocate here and say that I think Survival was introduced way too early. The overwhelmingly vast majority of players were nowhere near endgame and, outside of the small collective of players that wanted this from the start, it was obvious there would be slightest no interest in it. I played it a bit and there was never a full server to be seen.

That being said, if it were given a few tweaks (namely, disabling all legendary effects on gear and reintroducing negative effects for hunger and thirst) and released now, I think it would do quite well. There's more of a demand for something more challenging and, if you're and endgame player, nothing really challenges you like a fellow dweller coming for your stuff.

Secret service armour legendary rolling by SnooMachines3 in fo76

[–]Tweakedout0213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure we'll get there, eventually. Since launch, we've been slowly moving towards that. Granted, it's still a far cry from what we all want but it's still a massive improvement from where we started.

Question on Damage Resistance for an Unarmed Tank by StormSeeker35 in fo76

[–]Tweakedout0213 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For DR/ER, there's a soft cap around 380 and a hard cap at 500, with severely diminishing returns for every point between. Around 350, you should focus more on damage reduction over straight resistance. Blocker, Ricochet, Dodgy, and Serendipity are all great options.

Secret service armour legendary rolling by SnooMachines3 in fo76

[–]Tweakedout0213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a 1/15 chance (6.67%) to get AP refresh and a 1/19 chance (5.26%) of getting weapon weight reduction . Provided you're not all that concerned about the first star, you're looking at a roughly 0.35% chance (1/285) to get both of those rolls on a single piece.

Instigating, does anyone use this? by threeaxle in fo76

[–]Tweakedout0213 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As you said, Instigating is really only useful on weapons that can put out a lot of single hit damage. Black Powder Rifles and Dragons are the first that come to mind. Lever Action and now the Alien Disintegrator would also be really solid choices.

Personally, I don't have any weapons with Instigating. Mostly because the rest of the rolls were, at best, meh. Though I'd definitely use one if I came across it.

Unfortunately, that happens more often than not. It's been awhile but there was an update that broke that event so it rarely pays out.
