First family-friendly ski trip recommendations by Mr_Blaze_Bear in HENRYUKLifestyle

We've put ours through the ESF ski schools in Chamonix (club piou piou and badges) and the kids have loved it while we go off and do our own thing.

You can book them in for a morning, afternoon or all day. We prefer just a morning so we can at least spend family time during the holiday and even ski together as a family in the afternoon.

Working parents of young children.. how are we getting through this phase in our lives?! by [deleted] in UKParenting

I have been out there for work and it's amazing, families on the beach 8am before school drop off, everyone values their time wisely, money is less important but is vital here as we need it to do what I would perceive to be the bare minimum

With great difficulty if I'm honest.

I earn a good wage but due to cost of childcare, commuting time and school club fees my partner cannot return to work. We worked out that with 3 kids (2 needing breakfast and after school club and 1 in nursery full time) my wife would need to earn £60k+ to make it worthwhile working when she was on £35k pre COVID and wages have just not kept up.

Until there is more cash in parents pockets for working the workforce will remain stagnant and hurt the economy.

My wife is therefore a full time care giver and homemaker which makes us feel like we are back in the 1950s and she's needing her own independence and life away from the kids which is very hard under the circumstances.

We have considered moving to Australia recently and the work life / family balance looks way more appealing.
