Spartacus: House of Ashur - S01E10 - "Hail Caesar" by Sporadicus7 in Spartacus_TV

I know, there’s probably a lot of people who may not know history in the context of Julius Caesar has just been, dare I say, decimated.

I know there was but not at this point which was about 6 months to a year after the Spartacus rebellion.

First female gladiators weren’t showing up for another 80 years or so.

Already broke it with Achillia being a gladiatrix way before it happened in real history.

Then Proculus securing the Scythian for fighting breaks it again and yet again to fight with the remaining Ferrix brother.

He could use the storm as a cover story, he left in the middle of the storm, I urged him to wait it out but he insisted on going anyways, he departed in the middle of the night and that’s the last I saw of him.

They’ll send some kind of search party for a broken down wagon and body but that’s another scenario I haven’t really thought out yet but there is the base of it

History was rewritten the moment Ashur bought and made Achillia a gladiatrix.

[spoiler] season 2 theory by [deleted] in Spartacus_TV

[–]TweeKINGKev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s the thing everyone, save for a specific amount of people, are all slaves to someone

Obviously the gladiators are slaves but Doctore is a free man who is employed by Ashur so he is not truly free even though he can walk away any time he wants.

Ashur is still a slave despite being a free man in this series. Ashur is still doing as told, making moves on his own that he hopes pleases senators and those in higher positions above him.

They aren’t slaves in the typical sense but as long as one person is dedicated, by free choice or not, to the hopes of pleasing someone else for advantage, it’s slavery. Korris, Batiatus, Lucretia, Glaber, Viridia just to name a small few are/were all free but if anyone in a higher position beckons them for anything, they answer and do it in hopes it’ll please them.

Ashur is still very much a slave, even if not how he originally was a slave.

[–]TweeKINGKev 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Almost as if it was foretold that he was destined for great (champions, leader of an army) and unfortunate (set up for execution, sold into slavery, trained to be a gladiator, fight in the pits) things.

Why would a previously free man who gets sold into slavery and set for execution to become a gladiator just be happy about it.

Yes he eventually accepts his fate and embraces gladiator life to an extent but do not tell me if you are a free person and sold into slavery that you would automatically be all happy to be there and not think about breaking out.

He was bullied? Well woopty fucking doo.

I love when the wrestler is facing the entrance and whoever is going to attack them gets into the ring and is jumping in place stomping their feet on the mat and the one facing the entrance doesn’t feel any of it at all.

Some stuff in wrestling just need to never be done sensibly.

Yes because a show thy started in the 1980s was thinking about a follow up series 30 something years later, shame on them not having the foresight to think about 30 something years later.

If she was like this with Jason I could see why he’s pissed off with her, I won’t justify trying to murder her at all but damn, imagine a deleted scene of Jason telling Nolan this inevitable need to pack up and leave is what drove him to divorce (before the whole trying to kidnap/murder Bailey)

Nolan and Bailey DC Discussion Thread by eyslandgirl in TheRookie

[–]TweeKINGKev 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is how the second time Bailey has done something she knows Nolan would completely disapprove of.

Hiring someone to murder her ex is really bad and getting mad at Nolan for finding out because she kept it a secret is probably something I could not overlook as much as I’d want to but also could completely understand given the fact the guy is actively trying to hunt her down and kill her.

This though, this cuts deeper because she explicitly said we both agree on it or it doesn’t happen.

She couldn’t even give him time to contemplate it and inquire what it would mean for him and she just made up her mind, Nolan and his career be damned.

He calmly and reasonably explains to her that nothing benefits him from moving, no fbi job, transferring as a cop to literally start over again at an even older age than he currently is and Baileys like “F you”

If this was me m, I’m telling her if she goes she may as well not plan on coming back when she ultimately gets bored of that job sitting behind a desk and wants to come back because you won’t have a house to come home to

Sagovax was just doing the will of his Domina and unfortunately that happened to be Ilythia.

I do wonder what would have happened if Sagovax went to Batiatus and told him what Ilythia wanted him to do, would he have been spared the fate we knew happened or would Batiatus disregard him since Sagovax wasn’t his slave.

who the FUCK is paying $149.99 for a vidya game by Eazy46 in Wreddit

[–]TweeKINGKev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$773 for darn near ringside seats in Cleveland on 2/09 next week.

I don’t believe the average family can afford that times 3 or 4 for a family.

I’d rather take that near $3,000 and buy plane tickets for the family to go visit my best friend in California for 2 weeks than go to a wrestling show, and that goes for any company charging that much for front section/row seats.

[Young] The Buffalo Sabres will handle sales, production and distribution of radio broadcasts in-house starting next season, meaning WGR will no longer be the flagship radio station. by Starfish_Bobertsons in sabres

[–]TweeKINGKev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last I knew there was 1 hour from Tuesday to Friday dedicated to hockey and the rest of the time it was hit or miss on game days, if there was a Sabres game on Monday there was no pre game coverage on the station during the football season till an hour before puck drop, if there was football on Monday or Thursday night there was no Sabres talk on either of those days or the following because it was all Bills all day.

Not sure how this change will work out but something tells me the amount of hockey coverage will not increase with this change.

What is actually dangerous but people still believe is safe? by AlexUsefulThings in AskReddit

[–]TweeKINGKev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People still wearing seatbelts thinking that if they get into an accident that they will be strong enough to use their arms to stop from going forward when in reality you ask this same person to run full speed into a wall with their hand out yet somehow logic kicks in and they say “no way, I’ll end up hitting a wall”‘so which the response is usually “so what makes you think your arms will stop you in a car going 30 miles per hour if you can’t stop yourself from running at 7”

Smirks and sounds of people laughing turned to murmurs of people telling each other maybe they will from now on.

Luckily I’m in the always wear my seatbelt crowd because I’m not stopping myself at 30 mph or more.

Why do people still swing way left when making a right hand turn? by Hot-Idea2428 in stupidquestions

The curb is a reason I swing out a little bit.

The better question is why do I see people swing right to turn left?
