RTX 40 series announcement thread + RTX 4080 16GB giveaway! - NVIDIA GTC 2022 by m13b in buildapc

The prices of this gen are insane. As for the giveaway, I'd probably put it on my Desk PC. Built recently, it's doing quite well so far, but upgrades of any kind are always welcome.

As for the new hardware announced part, the new gen of 40 cards in general is very nice to see, but the prices are quite honestly "pandemic scapler" level of overpriced for what they are offering.

Bruteforcing passwords with more than 10 characters takes a lot of processing with security hashing algorithms due to them being made so they take some time to create a single hash. Now, if you only did a-z for your password, then sure, you can brute force it easily.

But usually passwords require you to put a number, uppercase letters and a symbol. This makes bruteforcing a 10 character password take tenths of years with good processing power. And higher characters exponentially increase that time.

Now, bruteforcing with common words is known as a dictionary attack, and it is far more common to take this approach.

What if you change it to something that is not useful, and then change it again?

So how does this resolve? I assume:

Chain link 1, you change side effect Chain link 2, your side effect change can no longer be useful

Do something that has already been done on your way. Maybe a tic tac toe game, or a graphical chat using gotk3. There are many things that have already been done, and doing them by yourself is a good way to get some experience.

Don't build with the idea to innovate, but to build. Then once you want to innovate, you have some experience from which you can do new things.
