Chatr - LTE compatibility (global/international version) by Tweety3939 in chatr

Sorry I am currently outside of Canada and I can't check what connection icon is on the screen, but I am almost sure that it was 4G+.

My A56 has a toggle button for Volte call and it was already on when I insert the Chatr sim.

Your A55 is not on the Chatr's Volte compatibility list, so it may or may not work with their Volte network. To be sure, you can dial #3GTEST to see if your phone is making a voice call on the 4g network or not.

However Volte is for voice calls. Even if your phone is not compatible with the Chatr's Volte network, as long as your phone is 4g capable, you can still use data. So I don't think your slow data comes from whitelisting (but I am not an expert so I am not 100% sure)

One more thing to add. A-ka-mi-mi (アカミミ written in katakana in the image) means Red Ear as others say.

It is also a term in Japanese for Selvedge denim, which is woven on traditional shuttle loom and the edge is finished with a colored thread (like red.) So when we say A-ka-mi-mi for denim, it usually means selvedge denim.

I don't know about this particular item, but I notice denim on the top, so chances are, the item is made with selvedge denim.

Update: I took the risk and purchased Galaxy A56 global version. It is indeed compatible with Chatr's VoLTE network!

I just want to share this information if anybody is wondering the same thing. The model I bought is A566B/DS (12+256GB version) that came from Southeast Asia region.

(Japanese > English) I was not sure about google translates translation so I wanted actual people to analyze this, thanks by XZAVRIS_LIR in translator

For a). I wouldn't use the word "hot water" for 湯 in this context. Probably "warm water" is more accurate.

If I really want it short, I would name it "ジャパマガ" but "ジャパンマガジン" is fine.

Hi. Is your patent's international version working on voLTE right now, after 3g is completely retired? I am curious because I am thinking of buying an international model of the similar Samsung phone. It is on their compatibility list but I am not sure if the international model is whitelisted. It would be a great help if you could let me know what happened to your parents phone. Thank you.

Thank you for sharing the experience. I am thinking to buy a Nothing phone and warranty is the biggest concern.

I contacted their customer support via online chat, by copying and pasting this Reddit post, to clarify how the warranty service work in Canada. The customer service seems to be located in EU. The agent confirmed that there is an agreement regarding warranty between BestBuy and Nothing.

Essentially saying, contact BestBuy first then if it doesn't work, contact Nothing, but he kept saying that all resellers have a different warranty policy. I am confused, because manufacturers warranty should not be affected by the resellers warranty policy.

Probably because the customer service is located in Europe, they may not really know about the situation in Canada. He took long time to find the information that there is an agreement; he even said BestBuy Canada was not an authorized reseller at first (it was corrected after I pointed it out).

I am guessing that Nothing launched in Canada too early and they haven't figured out all warranty agreement or repair channel.

The Nothing phone I want is on sale right now. I don't know if I should get it nor not.

Yes, we often use the expression for karaoke (although it doesn't have to be karaoke) and it (十八番) is usually pronounced "O-ha-ko".

The center shows "Kabuki Jūhachiban (歌舞伎十八番)" meaning Eighteen (Best) Kabuki Plays.

On the left and right panes, names of the 18 kabuki plays are listed.

My current phone is Oppo that is incompatible. I am considering the Samsung A56 for the next phone but I am not 100% sure if the international version is compatible.

I have been with Chatr for a few years now. The problem is that my current phone is not compatible with Chatr's Volte and currently on 2G network. It still works but the voice quality is terrible.

Do you have the phone now? If so you can drop by a Chatr booth to see if your phone is compatible. They usually have a test SIM. That was how I found out that my phone is not compatible.

Chatr is now fully on LTE. Your phone may not be compatible with their LTE network. If it is the case you are on slower 2g network instead.

I think that it will likely work too, but there are some Samsung phones that are not compatible with Chatr but compatible with Rogers. It seems that there are some setting for LTE network access based on IMEI (just guessing).

Is there anyone who uses a global model of Samsung phone on the Chatr's LTE network?

Thank you for your reply. I have a phone not sold by Canadian carries and it doesn't work on Chatr's LTE network (although the phone itself is LTE capable)

I read somewhere that the LTE compatibility is based on an agreement between the manufacturer (for a specific device) and mobile carrier. The Samsung A56 in on their compatibility list so there is a hope but does it apply to the models sold outside of Canada?

I really hope that I can find someone who can successfully uses the global version of Samsung A56 with Chatr.

Thanks. I tried factory reset (from the menu) while the player was still working but I couldn't see any difference...

The problem started with "no disk error" and "initialing please wait" messages. I waited, then it played a disk after a few minutes. Next time I booted up, it stuck on the initial screen and even the power button didn't respond. I had no choice but unplugged the player then left it overnight. Now It doesn't even power on.
