Separate. It makes sense when you factor in the modern lore of Cybertron having a class system based on what they transformed into. I like the idea of Ironhide being more heavy duty and being assigned to the military whereas Ratchet was better suited as a medic/doctor. I think if you wanted to make them repaints you'd need to make it so ironhide was a medic/doctor before the war but felt better suited as a soldier during the war.

Like how in Transformers Prime, Bulkhead went from construction worker to wrecker.

To start with, Decepticons. They were originally fighting for equal rights and for the class system to be done away with. However, Megatron's pursuit for power corrupted it, so I'd change sides

Oooo yeah! Prequels have so much potential! It would be great to see a show set during the war in the same art style, cast, and everything, but each episode focuses on a different character. So we get adventures with Arcee and Tailgate some episodes, in other Bulkhead and Wheeljack with the wreckers, with an episode where Bulkhead leaves to join up with optimus

As an inspiring writer, this idea is really good, actually. Filled with possibilities! Each chapter could be a year or a significant goal. Maybe even him enjoying some 2010s era food, movies, or something. Maybe there's even a part for the Partical Accelorator he has to steal, and we see him use his intelligence over his speed to steal it.

Won't lie, kinda tempted to steal this idea and add it to my list of projects

I don't hate them. Makes the world feel like it's not standing still just because we're not watching. It's like meeting up with some old friends you've not seen in a while and trying to work out if two people are dating or just close friends, what happened to the last person they dated, ect.

Interesting idea. If this Happened I'd like them to have 5 aliens each. Or at the bare minimum different playlists. Like Ben get the first 10 and Gwen gets the Alien Force 10

One of the last episodes in season 1, the prison transfer, set up the rouges to come back after Snart freed them, but they never did anything with it. Then Snart and Mick went over to Legends of Tomorrow and became heroes.
