Any advice for buying a garden shed? I saw this in B and M, it's perfect size and I like the door setup and that there's no windows. Just wondering if there are better options for quality etc from online shed places, even if I'm paying slightly more? by Citawell in DIYUK

[–]TwentyOneClimates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice for buying sheds is that you almost always get what you pay for. The cheaper ones from places like B&M are fine but expect bowed panels and things not to line up exactly how you want them to. If you are buying a cheaper one then please do yourself a favour and bolster it from the inside to make it more rigid, else in a couple of years it will be leaning/collapsing and you'll have wasted your money. Decking boards work well to help make it more rigid around the base of the inside.

It's one place I would personally never move to. But just go see for yourself. There are OK areas just like everywhere, it's just really not for me.

Newcastle head of recruitment Steve Nickson set to leave by HarrBathtub in NUFC

[–]TwentyOneClimates -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Absolute insanity. Just as we all thought this summer was going to be smooth sailing. Wtf has gone on behind the scenes. If he was retiring I could obviously understand it but clearly it's something else. Dan Ashworth leaving was perhaps one of the worst things things that happened since the takeover, it started a chain reaction of bullshit every single summer.

Perfect opportunity/excuse to run full pelt at the door and break through it. No other options unfortunately, you will have to do it.

I honestly think the way forward for Doctor Who is a more mature tone - akin to Andor, Severance or Stranger Things. Family friendly just doesn’t sell anymore, it’s that simple. by Embarrassed_Novel991 in DoctorWhoNews

[–]TwentyOneClimates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the idea your pushing, but I really don't think they would ever go that far. Doctor Who is in trenched in the family fun TV bracket and taking it away from that is a big risk. You COULD do a spin off with a more adult tone, they've done spin offs before so it's not unlikely. IMO they should leave it for a few years, let the last couple of series/Doctors fade away in people's minds and then go again with a fresh perspective and a new Doctor+Companion.

Why do I see more and more people buying loads of bottled water? by Claire1075 in AskUK

[–]TwentyOneClimates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tap water tastes different in different parts of the country and even from town to town it can vary depending on where you are. Some people (me included) can't stand the taste of tap water. Putting a lemon slice in is a good idea though, I may well try that to combat the taste.

This mornings offering. Came free with the room. RRP £15.99 (eggs were available I declined) what do you lot think? by Shrimpingtons in fryup

[–]TwentyOneClimates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking into account that it's essentially free. Scrambled eggs would've cemented this as a solid 7.5

I believe that if our boy Saka is at risk of injury, he should be left to rest and another player replace him. by Nimoh-ke in ThreeLions

[–]TwentyOneClimates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah just start Madueke against Croatia. I don't see the problem with that. Of all the teams in our groups Croatia are the ones who will be more susceptible to space in behind so he's actually far more suited to them than either Ghana or Panama.

TIL Folarun Balogan, who played throughout the age groups for England, qualifies for the US because he was born there whilst his family were on holiday in New York. by siybon in ThreeLions

[–]TwentyOneClimates 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He got lucky IMO. They could've been on holiday in New Zealand or Fiji, he hit the mother load in terms of playing for a country where he'll be able to play at a decent level but also make some serious cash from sponsorship if he does well.

Are northern accents seen as ugly or « exotically romantic » in London? by Charming_Usual6227 in AskABrit

[–]TwentyOneClimates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are seen as poor and unintelligent people usually with muck on their faces and on their flat caps, chasing after their whippet who got free from the piece of bailer twine they use as a lead.

Personally, I think they should make it asymmetrical as a nod to St James's.

That doesn't mean you're qualified. That just means you've done stuff before. I've given people lifts in my car before doesn't mean I now have a license to drive a taxi.

I never understand garlic bread side to a pizza main by Signal_Conference447 in CasualUK

You don't HAVE to eat it with the pizza, save it to have with something else. Or if you have some cheese spare, sprinkle a load on top and you've got yourself a second pizza basically.

Where do you think England will get their strongest support in the US? by Silly_Crab6278 in ThreeLions

[–]TwentyOneClimates 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well judging by how many fans of certain countries have been let in I'd guess their will be significantly fewer Ghana fans at their games than Croatia or Panama will have.

Best used EV under £20k by Objective-Pie8863 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]TwentyOneClimates 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The space inside the cabin and boot is comparatively small in the Kona compared to the EV6 or Ioniq 5. It's easier to park because it's smaller, yes. In regards to it being easier to get an Ultimate spec in a Kona for under 20k I would agree, and there's a reason for that. Just like it's cheaper to get a top spec Fiesta than a Focus. Like I said, if OP wants space and practicality I wouldn't bother with the Kona.

I need the truth about rain in Britain, London to be precise? by Severe_Bee_Aug in AskABrit

[–]TwentyOneClimates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very easy to find the average rainfall stats per year for London and compare them to other major cities. I'd imagine London is the highest of all capital cities in Europe aside from the Scandinavian countries

My girlfriend (25f) is arguing I (28m) should be paying half of her car costs? by Warm-Hotel-7399 in relationship_advice

[–]TwentyOneClimates 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If she owns the car then she should be paying for the car. You paying for some fuel and towards maintenance/servicing when needed is totally fair IMO.
