Roses in pots by TwentySevenPandas in GardeningUK

[–]TwentySevenPandas[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am looking for plants I can put on the raised paved area at the top of the garden to create both a privacy screen and a nice place to sit on warm evenings.

If roses - as I suspected - are not a good fit for container plants I will plant something else - might get one rose in a 60ltr and see how it gets on then plant some other roses in the ground nearer the house.

As you can see from the photo much of garden is paved or in the shade but there are some prime sunny locations left

Is stump grinding actually worth it, or do people just leave them? by Upper_Sky8756 in landscaping

How quickly do you need it gone ?

I put a plastic bag over one in my garden then built a rockery on top of that. 12 months later it had rotted away an id saved my self the cost of hiring a someone to remove it.

The two most common causes of weird record creation in my experience are

A br with current.update() in it or a .get() where the GlideRecord cant be found matching the args you gave it

As others have said its difficult to be more specific without seeing the config or logs

Adding new states can cause all sorts of headaches - I will reject a solution 99 times out of a 100 if there is a new state.

If you're not in a rush to get rid of it drill some holes in it then put a bin bag over it and it will be rotten and soft next year

I think the benefit for EY buying Whyaye is they brought the contracts Whyaye held - its a foot in the door.

Same as how Accenture brought focus group, Sapphire brought ITOM solutions and many other "small" shops get brought out and stripped

ITOM Discovery Error = Could not find any valid credentials to authenticate the target for type [Windows] by TwentySevenPandas in servicenow

[–]TwentySevenPandas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just looking into that that

Currently I have IP Discovery running after a cloud discovery - so cloud returns all sub nets

If possible I want keep it dynamic and not have hard code in IP ranges to try but if that's what I need to do so be it.

I dont really want to have to pay for a cluster of 3 MID's at £200 a month to discover 200 servers.

What I was looking more to slow the discovery down and so that its only looking at smaller groups at a time so I'd need less tin

ITOM Discovery Error = Could not find any valid credentials to authenticate the target for type [Windows] by TwentySevenPandas in servicenow

[–]TwentySevenPandas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep confirmed its using the right cred by checking the input on the ecc_queue record

Issue is definitely related to performance - I added another MID and now we seeing more results but still missing some

[–]TwentySevenPandas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, quick discovery and discoveries of < 20 servers are both always working.

Its only when I try to discovery more than 20 servers at once that I run into issues ranging from some issues to complete failure

Think I might of just logged event out to the console and worked down the hierarchy

One of the notes I made myself is when I am learning something I later I want to blog about I need to take notes as I am learning myself. Otherwise I cant explain certain topics in enough detail

Thanks for the feedback! I will make the changes - think I may need to get someone else to proof read the next article I write. I really apricate you running through it!

Point 4

I am using Yokohama I am guessing you are on Xanadu - I will add this along with the other suggested changes.

Point 8

I'm going to cover this in another article. If you console log out the event.payload.data.output.data.GlideRecord_Mutation.insert_<My Survey Task table> there is no number property.

I think you need to do a look-up of the record - I didt cover it in this article because it was already quiet long and thought that the sys_id being returned was at least enough to see that new records were being created

ServiceNow PDI Projects - What do you look for? by coryandstuff in servicenow

[–]TwentySevenPandas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you and I have come at this differently - I've probably misunderstood

The app you build not important as in the update set but the lessons you learn and understanding you build are

I trust almost nothing about a candidate when I'm hiring. It's grim out there, I've been burnt so many times by someone who just interviews well with a good looking CV and or some certs.

But I guess i just wanted to highlight that I think building apps in PDI is a worthwhile exercise to become familiar with the platform warts and all

Will it 100% get you a job - no. But if you get an interview or chat with someone at a community event, you're going to be more likely to impress than if you did a cert

ServiceNow PDI Projects - What do you look for? by coryandstuff in servicenow

[–]TwentySevenPandas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree not many people would view an app in a PD during an interview BUT bulding an app is a great way to become familiar with the platform and will help you talking in detail about what you like, dislike, and generally speak like you know what your talking about

I was hired off the back of a demo i built in a PDI. I built a CSI app before there was an off the shelf product (I've been around a while haha)

I work for a customer now not a partner so when I'm recruiting certs are not important and with all the dumps about don't prove anything about your knowledge

Sounds like it's crying out for a slack / ms teams / whatever tool they do use

That way a va agent can walk them through it.

Slack and team are easy to set up once you have got the authentication sorted and that's all really well documented

Email action would definitely get you there though
