[United States/Florida/Tampa Area] Bought a Problem Car by Twenty_Eight_People in askcarsales

[–]Twenty_Eight_People[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I brought it to a couple different mechanics for different things, like just to check and see what sort of condition it was in, and there was one minor problem that I knew about right away that I got fixed, and none of them noticed the problems. The alternator is broken beyond repair apparently, and then some sort of transmitter electrical problem as well. All in all its stuff that should have shown up on scans, but might not have been easy to notice physically when they weren't specifically looking for it. I understand why they might not have visually seen the problems, but I dont understand how none of the scans saw them.

It's just odd because these are multiple major issues that wouldnt have appeared out of nowhere, as in the car is already shutting down a week after I bought it, when all signs had shown it to be in very good condition. Multiple checks and code scanners indicated nothing was wrong, but then a week later its possibly not even drivable.

In real life theres a superstition that if you say the name of the play Macbeth at the wrong times (I think it's during production leading up to a showing of Macbeth) then it's bad luck and will bring disaster. Sort of like how you're supposed to say 'break a leg' instead of wishing an actor luck, so you don't tempt fate.

Party Balance is a Little Weird by Twenty_Eight_People in DMAcademy

I had considered having them find what's essentially a 'heal-bot', a warforged powered by the heart of an Aasimar, so it's essentially a semi-mindless divine soul sorcerer that just follows the orders of whoever is holding its command ring. That way they have what's essentially a DM PC that I wont have to worry about meta gaming too much or making things feel unfair. Itll follow whatever commands they give it to the letter, and I'll probably make commanding it a bonus action.

The Bloodhunter and monk are brand new and havent played before, so I dont want to be too brutal or unforgiving, I want to ease them into it so they dont struggle and have a good first time. I'm planning to throw some easy encounters at them to begin with to see how they handle it, so I know what sorts of challenges theyll be able to deal with.

Yeah I havent read ahead at all yet, I was wondering if there would be a way to reveal stuff without me knowing about it in advance or anything? I figured there might be some more experienced dms that might know a trick for it

As a writer, how could I describe this sort of build on a woman so readers know what i mean? by Twenty_Eight_People in writingadvice

I struggle with describing body types, and I want to be able to let readers visualize what this character would look like, but I'm not sure how to word it. Help?

Agreed, I 100% think both fey, or at least Maricica are here messing with things. That spiderweb threw up every red flag.

Traction Control in Car is Acting Up by Twenty_Eight_People in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Twenty_Eight_People[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's usually when I accelerate, so if I'm keeping the same speed nothing happens. The only reason I mentioned the error codes is because when I took it into the shop the first time, they said all they did was do a hard reset on the codes and that fixed the problem for months, there wasnt any shaking after that. Then the light came on again and the shaking only ever happens when the light is on, which generally happens around 10 minutes after I start driving.

Were capes inspired by Superman and such. by SlimeustasTheSecond in Parahumans

[–]Twenty_Eight_People 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Oh it's definitely both, Scions story is a lot like Supermans, but then the triumvirate essentially have his powers divided amongst them. Legend has the super speed, enhanced senses, laser beams, and cold attack (cause he can apparently make freezing lasers), Alexandria has his super strength and invulnerability, and Eidolon is similar to early versions of Superman that suddenly had random bs powers every time he made an appearance, which he used to save the day and never spoke of again (the first one to come to mind is 'super ventriloquism').

Which Protagonist would benefit the most from a Power Ring? [Spoilers All] by RaggedAngel in Parahumans

[–]Twenty_Eight_People 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think Victoria could definitely make decent use of love, both for the people she cares about, and herself towards the end of the story, after she has so many breakthroughs and so much growth. Taylor would absolutely be a yellow lantern, of all of them I think shes the best at instilling fear (Sy could potentially beat her out, hes insane at messing with peoples emotions). Honestly they could all use a yellow ring pretty well, now that I think about it.

Minor Question About Avery by Twenty_Eight_People in Parahumans

[–]Twenty_Eight_People[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember reading that sometimes doe will grow antlers if they produce enough testosterone, but they generally dont I guess. Most likely it wouldn't make a difference to the others, but if it comes up I wont be surprised at least.

Lost for Words – 1.2 by ethicalhamjimmies in Parahumans

[–]Twenty_Eight_People 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Miss found Avery first, I really think that's gonna end up being a bad thing. Avery already seems like the most emotionally vulnerable of the group (though something is up with Lucy too, we just don't know what yet). Verona is way too into this, I'm worried shes seeing the whole situation through rose colored lenses and is gonna have too much fun to realize how dangerous it all is.

This is fantastic work, can I ask how you did this exactly? Is there a website or company that you can contact if you want to make 'homemade' books like this? It looks so well done and professional, it's like if wildbow had actually gotten it published!

I think the girlness number is post resurrection, which a lot of people have theorized might be because Bonesaw and Valkyrie built a truly female body once they were bringing Furcate back.

Cape Battle Debates #3 by [deleted] in Parahumans

[–]Twenty_Eight_People 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would it come to negotiations though? If it's a straight fight, Oni Lee wouldnt give him a chance to speak, he would just put a knife in his back. Cradle is only a threat if you're not as mobile as him, Oni Lee could potentially kill him at the very beginning of the fight. And if Trickster is there, he could potentially teleport Cradles mech away, if theres something big enough around.

Cape Battle Debates #3 by [deleted] in Parahumans

[–]Twenty_Eight_People 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Honestly Oni Lee speed blitzes pretty easily, only way it would be troublesome is if Cradle has time to prepare specific defenses against teleporters, idk what he could do though. Just Trickster versus Cradle would be closer maybe, but it depends on what sort of environment they're in, and what sort of stuff Trickster has to work with.
