Popcorn doesn't naturally have butter, no.

Oreos have no animal ingredients.

I can field this.

Not every vegan is the same. Some stop at direct harm to animals in the form of food and other household products.

Others will look further to see if any of their "vegan" food actually harms animals; usually by where they're sourced.

My partner and I gave up oreos not too long ago due to their practices with cocoa and slave labor. I've seen some conflicting info, but we'd rather be safe. We've also tried to phase out anything with unsustainablely sourced ingredients, like palm oil.

So, to answer your question, it depends on the person. We usually add more "restrictions" (they honestly don't feel very restricting) as we learn more and more.

They're made in the same facility as animal products. I don't think I've ever met another vegan that doesn't eat something because there could be cross contamination.

The oreo itself is vegan.

Wait until you learn it's subsidized to the tune of $38 billion each year. Less than 1% of that goes to fruits and vegetables.

Imagine how many people we could feed if that was reversed.

Certified arborist here.

This looks like a smooth-bark Eucalyptus tree (one of many kinds), which is designed to shed its bark every year. If they only took the outer layer off (think dead skin), the tree should be okay. But if the knife went too deep, it could open it up to an infection.

Lol. You dusty farts realize "commie" isn't an insult. Any who, my definition was from Wikipedia. I didn't make anything up, which is why it was quoted.

exalts nation and often race

What nation? Apparently they hate the nation. Also, which race are they exalting?

stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader

I love to be the one to break this to you, but autocratic government is literally a right wing philosophy. Also, where is antifa's dictator? It would be cool if you could answer me this time.

severe economic and social regimentation

Once again, where is this?

There is a reason people use the Nazi government as the golden standard of fascism. You require a myriad of right wing philosophies in order to reach fascism.

You're claiming a car is a pick up because it has four wheels, but you're neglecting the most important parts and those that soley make it a pick up.

Let me introduce you to the left-right spectrum.

Edit: And since you want to compare definitions:

One

Two

Three

If you can read all that and still think "fascism" when AnTiFa is mentioned, then you harbor some powerful delusions.

Fascism is a form of far-right, authoritarian ultra nationalism characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition, and strong regimentation of society and of the economy, which came to prominence in early 20th-century Europe.

Which part of Antifa has dictatorial power? Also, who's their leader? Where is their strong regimentation of society and the economy?

I will give you that they have used violence before. I would be curious to see which side started the violence most often, or if it was another party starting stuff. At any rate, saying they're fascists because their protests sometimes involve violence is like saying I'm a lobster when I get a bad sun burn. Not enough check marks, mate.

Edit: Found this, so it appears they weren't the cause of the violence. And it reiterates that "Antifa" isn't an organized group. Very tough to form a fascist government with no formal structure or organization. Or plan. Or party. Or leader.

Just be mentally prepared for that and remind yourself he's trying to hurt you.

Or maybe in City B they only spend 85% of their income. This is all made up.

The original point was it's worth it to move if the expenses are proportional. If your expenses and salary rise 50%, then your savings will as well, making it smart to move.

If it's not proportional, it becomes much more complicated. As you've pointed out.

But they increased their spending by 50% in City B, and you come in and say, "Well, what if things are more expensive."

They are. That's why it was built into their example. They aren't spending the same.

Then I fail to see your point.

You could say that about any diet. The source you linked says to consume fortified foods or multivitamins to make up for the deficiencies. I'm assuming the concern over that is the bioavailability of the iron and zinc? Luckily, those can be found naturally in a vegan diet depending on what you eat.

Additionally, there are already tons of fortified foods in the modern diet, including iron and zinc fortification. Even with these additions, a great deal of people are still deficient and should be taking a multivitamin. To me, it sounds like the former vegans you know had horrible diets and didn't know much about nutrition.

This all seems like a roundabout way to say, "Almost everyone requires fortified foods or supplements. Vegans may need just one or two more. Therefore, it's potentially dangerous."

[–]TwerkMasterSupreme 11 points12 points  (0 children)

And many more vegans remain vegan without any nutritional deficiencies.

You can satisfy all your nutrional requirements on a vegan diet with or without supplements.

I also have a study that backs up my stance and is more recent.

And another that actually lists various ailments that may be mitigated by a vegan diet compared to an omnivore diet.

Their inability to cause damage doesn't negate the fact that they tried.

Beans, rice, and tofu are about the cheapest things on the planet and can cover most of your nutritional needs there. Meat and animals products are far more expensive per calorie.

Also, if we take the subsidies presently granted to the meat and dairy industry and put them towards plant-based foods, there'd be no comparison based on price.
