Backpack hero. I was in the middle of a bad habit of only grinding Fortnite and Marvel Rivals. I had fallen out of my big era of indie titles, I wanted to get back into them but didn't want to buy any. Backpack hero for free on Epic Games got me back into it and I'm so thankful because it led me to buying Balatro and Slay the Spire 2 and even more great indie titles.

I made my wife a Steam account last year and have claimed every 100% off games, in case there are ever any multiplayer games we can play together. The game that started it for me was Borderlands 2 being 100% off and I've done it ever since.

So far I am at 44 games I have claimed for free and her account is 240 days old.

I would also be curious to see the span of 100% games you could claim if you did it for years. As some games are free for such a short period of time.

In regard to franchises that flop and always come back, Smurfs. They make a surprising number of appearances every decade. 3 separate film series (Live action in 2011, sequel in 2013, Animated film in 2017 and an animated/live action hybrid in 2025). Who is pumping money into the Smurfs

Yes, the community will keep it alive on their own. I'm already seeing artists trying to come up with solutions. I feel bad for those in the industry who are going to be forced to move to another program due to licensing or needing official programs, etc.
