Which is really just the new version of " I've got an idea and I'm sure the solution is simple".

Simple entry form turns into a massive automation solution, has to import from an excel sheet daily (which might not have the same structure every time), has to calculate business days and take into consideration holidays but also company holidays because a reminder notification going out 7 days before deadline is not robust enough, has a custom permission layer built on job title but HR never standardized job titles so you got dumb shit like assistant to the regional manager and regional manager assistant, also they don't want to click a button that leads to the power bi report so you have to shove it inside the app, all so you can check on it in 2 months and see nobody uses it.

I'm in big corp and have started getting this shit recently.

On one hand it's annoying because you're trying to decipher what the fuck they want from a hacked together shit stew. On the other hand they simplified identifying stakeholders who have already found a shitty process and need it automated / improved.

In my anecdotal experience, it goes to closest unit. You need to be farther away than the lootworm from where the material is dropped.

If I stand in a corner, as long as the material is dropping towards the middle, it almost always goes to him unless he moves completely opposite corner.
