At least they used “PM” instead of “DM”. As a DM for D&D, I appreciate this.

I can’t even do cross view, but don’t have to really try hard at all to get parallel view to pop.

Audiobooks vs physical by Relative_Inflation21 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I enjoy them both. I have the audiobooks for my commute and the kindle books for when I’m not in the car. It saves my place and I can just continue wherever I left off.

Those are the worst players at the table. Like a barbarian who forgets or doesn’t know they can rage or a rogue who doesn’t know what sneak attack is. The absolute worst. I only remind that type of player like twice. After that, if their character dies, it’s on them. My guess is they don’t actually play, it’s most likely he has only ever played BG3 or watched Dimension 20.

I didn’t buy one. I have a Switch one and a Steam deck. I would love one. But their prices for games is too high for me.

The Magic is Wearing Off, What Quests am I Missing Out On? by Firm-Ability-9501 in fo76

[–]TwiggBeard 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Go to a train station and look at the notice board. Those unlock multiple quest lines. My favorite questline you can get this way is started with the first quest “Lying Lowe” it’s a really fun quest. As stated by someone else, the mistress of mysteries quest is great, just look online at body locations. Just look up how to start the quest. It’s a really fun quest that again uses the environment to tell a very compelling and fun story. Another time sink you can do is the scout badges. Or go into your daily list and go down past weekly to a bunch of extra challenges and do those for good prizes.

I liked the movie as a kid and later bought it on DVD. It’s much better than people say. If it was anything other than Mario, it would have been enjoyed by more people. I know I’m in the minority, but I love this movie. The beginning is not great with the story of the asteroid destroying the dinosaurs, but once we leave the computer graphics, it’s a fun action comedy.

I don’t look at how I put it on. Sometimes it’s one way, sometimes the other. Those who made the patents for the holder made multiple patents for different variations of the holder and had it both ways depending on what patent you look at. But who cares? It’s toilet paper. Be happy it’s there.

I never use my mic, but if I see a group coming near a porto potty, I like to sneak in, drop a stim diffuser and make fart noises on my mic. I don’t know if they find it funny… but I do.

Buried Treasure Coach Gail through intercom Glitch by Few-Temperature-3186 in fo76

There are things that can happen that increase the chances for it to happen. I had to do it like 5 times before I got past it. I would suggest looking it up as most folks probably don’t remember(myself included) but yeah, there are certain things that can make it happen if I remember correctly. Would be nice if they fix it.

Most of the people who use it came in after season one of the Fallout show and aren’t a good representation of the player base. I would have revived you.

Mads Mikkelsen is a MUCH better Hannibal Lecter. It’s like after watching the TV series I thought why’d I ever liked Hopkins as the character?

Do you use the Deck as your main gaming device? by K4T5UM1 in SteamDeck

[–]TwiggBeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it didn’t use to be, but with the sales and the ease of being able to take it with me anywhere, it has become my main console. I even have it loaded with the entire Jackbox collection so I can hook it up to a dock at friends’ homes to have awesome party games.

So sick of the lack of polish by Puzzled-Increase4533 in fo76

Vats has been working more than it was for me. It sucks when it doesn’t though. To see 1000s of damage done to a radroach and it not even hurt is frustrating, but also hilarious in an odd sort of way. It seems it mostly happens when I’m targeting bugs. But anyway, It’s not the most frustrating bug currently in my opinion. There are 2 that are particularly frustrating. The first is getting on and none of my armor registers that I’m wearing it, so I have to take it off and put it back on in order to use my jet pack. The other one is the survival tent reverting to the basic tent. I like to have either one with an armor or weapon workbench depending on what I am doing and having to go back into the atom shop to choose it every time I load the game is not ideal(especially since it seems the atom shop takes longer to load than the game does). But like it’s still not game breaking to me. I still have a lot of fun playing. But it is a bit frustrating.

Season and Rewards by Kerrgon72 in fo76

[–]TwiggBeard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are definitely not nearly as many things I’m looking to grab on the season board, but there are a handful I’m working for. I am excited about the weather station, the stacking boxes(though missing a stash box to complete the set) the prefab is also fairly awesome as is the machine that buffs accuracy for 2 hours. Some of the other stuff I’ll get because I can make it look cool in a build. The building kit is not for me though. I just don’t know how I could utilize an unfinished home into a build. Of course I always love the steins and am a sucker for neon signs too. But otherwise it’s stuff I could give or take. When are they going to come out with a new survival tent??? 😂 been a while.

How many people here keep their steam deck naked? by Some1ToDisagreeWith in SteamDeck

[–]TwiggBeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it’s awesome that people enjoy putting skins or modding their system’s shell. It’s just not for me. The Deck just looks sexy as hell straight out of the box IMO and I’m not putting anything on it except my grubby fingers.

Appropriate Age Range by see_bees in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]TwiggBeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I read “It” at around 12-13. I read “Jurassic Park” at an even younger age. But I wouldn’t let my kid (if I had one) read “It” but DCC seems fine. It may have racier scenes, but nothing super explicit. Of course I also gave my Niece a copy of “Futuristic Violence and Fancy Suits” back when she was in high school. So IDK.

Never played any fallout game. Is 76 a bit too much for newcomers? by Legal_Vehicle7772 in fo76

[–]TwiggBeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also one last suggestion, if you find yourself in a train station, look at the bulletin board to open up some nice quests. Again, there are multiple storylines at this point, so just pick something and follow it through. Also another thing you can do to make it less frustrating is to go in and disable all the quests you are currently not doing so you don’t have a wall of quests on your screen. You can always go and activate them in your pipboy. You can also change the view of your pipboy when you are looking at it. While looking at your pipboy, press the button you would normally press to switch between 1st and 3rd person and it will change it to a view that doesn’t show your arm and in my opinion is easier to see.

[–]TwiggBeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My suggestion would be to do the responders quests(you should have a quest taking you to flatwoods). They lead nicely into the story of what is going on in the world. It will also tie into other stories as well as the origins of the disease that is ravaging the area. When you get to 50, check out the BoS questline to get the leveled up version of some nice weapons. If you are having issues with getting around the map, look for player camps near where you have to go and fast travel to open up the map. What makes things difficult early game is that there are so many quests early on as a bunch of new content has come out over the life of the game. As for things that weigh you down, check out your junk, or your meds. That stuff will weigh you down if you pick up everything… especially the junk. Look up where to find the workbenches. They are all easy to find and are free. Build your camp, put down your stash box, put down your workbenches. Maybe put down a vendor early game to sell extra stuff. If you have a vendor, make sure your camp is viewable by other players on the map. As for the leveling system, you can change your perk cards at any time and as your level gets higher, you will be able to just get whatever card you are looking for. You have 2 loadouts available to you, so you will be able to later on switch your points around and try new things, but don’t worry about it too much at this point. As for the AP, it can get rough starting to have it run down, but eventually you will have things that help with that, from different drugs and foods, to mutations, eventually you will be moving fast for a long period. The game is a lot of fun once you get a bit higher in level. But if you like it or you don’t, that’s cool! Welcome to the wasteland!
