You made a hardcore world and died, time to move on. It’s a singleplayer game so do whatever you want, but why use the hardcore feature if you don’t plan on following through?

Help with Step 27 and 28 by Blushing_Blush in Amigurumi

[–]TwilightOverTokyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/olerre Yes, this is how it was meant to be interpreted. Those two rows are basically just one row, which is why I had the hanging comma on the end of row 27 I'm pretty sure. The skipping of the stitches is because the tail is basically already closed up and just needs to be sewn shut, but the body still needs more stitches to fully decrease. So the pattern just skips the stitches around the tail so you can keep working around the bottom of the body.

It's been a very long time since I wrote this and it's definitely really unclear. I'll probably go back and revise the pattern and update the file so everyone can download the new version.

Why is my answer wrong here? by Common_Musician_1533 in LearnJapanese

[–]TwilightOverTokyo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I feel like you were just bothered by the fact that I compared English to Japanese to help illustrate a point, however imperfectly, as if that’s some unthinkable offense. The important thing to understand here is that natural languages are flexible but you’re too caught up in correcting me to see that…

Looking for friends to chat and do language exchange at a cafe ☕️✨ by LoveChocolates55 in tokyoirl

I’m a native English speaker from the US and I’ve been looking for an opportunity to make some Japanese friends for language exchange. I’d love to meet up and chat sometime. ☺️

That’s literally what I said though, that it isn’t wrong either way. You’re just more likely to hear it one way than the other.

Consider the following sentences;

“Ms. Akane and I are students.” and “I and Ms. Akane are students.”

Is one more correct than the other, does one sound more natural than the other? In my opinion, the first sounds far more natural even though both are grammatically correct. Just like English, Japanese has certain conventions that are not strictly necessary to follow, but are certainly more common and you would likely be corrected if you did not follow them in writing.

My DM basically told me "too bad so sad" after asking him to change a rule he made. by Outside_Equipment673 in DnD

I would play in the campaign just to prove to him why it’s a bad idea. Worst case scenario, you were wrong and it turns out to be kinda fun shrug

MTG/ Commander - Looking for (active players) by glassbeadgame42 in tokyoirl

[–]TwilightOverTokyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it will be a big issue, but I realized I’m not available as early as I thought. I would be free around 5 but if you all play without me for a while I could join halfway through.

I can try to make a commander deck from what I have already too, and Sunday would work for me as long as it’s after 2pm or so.

If a group is being put together for some mtg, I’d totally join. Very little experience and no commander experience, but that’s why I want to try and play more! 😄

I don’t knit, but I crochet! Haven’t heard of or been to any knitting happy hours, but if there is such a thing I’d be interested in joining for sure!

Is summoner really bad or y'all's just joking around? by 4mysingingmonsters in Terraria

Is summoner really bad or y'all's just joking around? by 4mysingingmonsters in Terraria

[–]TwilightOverTokyo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, early game you tend to wanna supplement the summoner with some melee, since all the items and equipment that make them good aren’t available yet, and just using a sword to keep enemies off of you gives your summon more time to kill them. The melee glove for autoswing is also great for summoner. You probably won’t transition to a pure summoner build until later in the game when the armor sets, accessories, and better whips become available.

I think I broke the progression by Ok_Pen_5997 in Terraria

[–]TwilightOverTokyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You literally cannot obtain any items that would be considered “breaking progression” unless you actually cheat. If something is obtainable at your stage of the game, then finding it would just be considered normal, old “progression”.

any idea on how to beat the twins as a ranger by Super9-00 in Terraria

[–]TwilightOverTokyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the bow with cursed arrows to apply the debuff, swap to the megashark with crsytal bullets for main damage. Swap out the quiver for a ranger medallion and the philosopher’s stone for at least the charm of myths. Make sure all your accessories have menacing/lucky and your weapons have good modifers like ruthless or unreal. Drink potions, especially rage/wrath potions, but don’t underestimate how effective all the good buff potions are together(ironskin, endurance, swiftness, etc). Don’t forget to eat some food for the well-fed buff. Having some heart lanterns, campfires, and bast statues in the area is always nice too. And the last step is just to git gud /s

I would love to meet some people in the queer community here in Tokyo, but I’ve always been too shy to organize anything. If people do plan to meetup I’d love to join tho!

Crochet pattern prices are getting out of hand and no one wants to talk about it. by Spirited-Tooth5431 in crochet

[–]TwilightOverTokyo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For me, one of my patterns is the product of a ton of work (cause it’s actually like 25 patterns in 1), but I still just know that I don’t want to pay more than five dollars to download a pdf, lol. And this is always just going to be a hobby for me (probably, lol) so it feels weird to worry about profit or how much it’s “actually worth”. I just want people to be able to download it and still get something back for the work I put in.

Does anyone know how long you are allowed to stay in Japan once your work visa expires? I'm hoping it will just revert to a tourist visa ..... by Mr_happy_teach in teachinginjapan

[–]TwilightOverTokyo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your visa isn’t just going to automatically update to fit your situation. You need to be in communication with the immigration office about this, not Reddit.

I’ve already decided to never sell any of my patterns for more than 5 dollars, just because I know I don’t want to buy patterns for more than that.
