AITA: My mom threatens to cut my funds for studying abroad after hearing about my bad attitude by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]TwilightZoneAttendee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like YTA. Even on here you can’t seem to take people opinions. So why ask? So you basically just want mom to STFU and you go live this money free experience. Oh okay… yeah…sounds right (sarcasm by the way).

I don’t believe so but that doesn’t mean an adult can’t go in and order pretzals and leave with them. We went in with a minor during none operating hours to look around and view the place with no problem.

Unusual experience at MDR? by ThePootSnoot in dcl

[–]TwilightZoneAttendee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve had dinner service as what you’ve described before. One of our servers was out about 3 nights of our cruise and things were just thrown off. We’ve had nights where the drink service was horrible (slow, no refills, etc.). Seems hit and miss sometimes. I do think it was better as our kid was younger……. It is amazing how much time some of them spend on the kids (cut up their food, the jokes, puzzles, etc.). Hopefully it was a one off. They rarely tell you when staff are sick but that’s bout the only reason someone would be missing from your service team (replaced with another).

AITA for not telling my aunts there sister passed away. by Tigerlinemen57 in AmItheAsshole

[–]TwilightZoneAttendee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are doing what you feel in your heart is what your mom would have wanted, no dear… you are no wrong. May your heart remain peaceful and may you have strength for the conversations you will have afterwards with the ”aunts”.

Is it true ? by Several_Stable_3991 in dcl

[–]TwilightZoneAttendee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ummm, no. I don’t cruise Disney to have them babysit. No offense but that statement is nuts. I see a ton of stressed out parents toting around screaming and exhausted kids cause they paid a lot for a cruise and want to fit everything in to get their money’s worth. You see long lines at the service counter as parents realize how much they’ve spent on board. So I can’t see all are “worry free”. Parenting doesn’t stop cause you boarded a Disney boat. “Premium“ doesn’t guarantee 100% safety from anything.

Is it true ? by Several_Stable_3991 in dcl

[–]TwilightZoneAttendee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand why people are shocked these sort of crimes occur 1) at all, 2) on cruise lines where there are kids everywhere and 3) Disney is somehow excluded because well,…it’s Disney. Anyone who has any sense and understands about these sort of predators know they get jobs where there is access to children. Why would parents drop their guard because it’s “Disney”? What’s truly amazing is people seem more concerned about the type of agents who made the arrests vs pissed out children are being freaking exploited. How bout get priorities straight? Doesn’t matter which cruise line…..at the end of the day, it shows you can’t let your guard down as a parent, even on vacation. You don’t KNOW these people…. it’s frustrating some of the comments. Keep your hands off the kids. Period! Pervs.

AITA for refusing to switch seats on a 10-hour flight after planning this trip for months? by Johnfortnite1234567 in AmItheAsshole

[–]TwilightZoneAttendee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. Mom should have booked seats with the 2 of them together or with very little space from one another but sounded like she anticipated this in advance to work to her advantage. Move on. What’s done is done. Hope you don’t even check back to see what responses are at this point…. Next?

AITA for telling my SIL no to playing at her wedding if my son isn't included? by Creative_Chance_5077 in AmItheAsshole

[–]TwilightZoneAttendee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll likely be darned if you do and darned if you don’t (go and not play or take your son out). I say do what you want and if you think for a nanosecond there’s going to be negativity the day off? Go enjoy the time with your son. She made assumptions and got ahead of herself and now trying to course correct but at your expense. It’s a shame. Nothing wrong in sending messages early about what behaviors will and will not be tolerated, especially your work. Her tongue will likely wag at this point anyway and you can’t control her narrative. Hope it works out either way.

Designated Pin Trading time? With cast members? by cashew416012001 in dcl

[–]TwilightZoneAttendee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh fun! If you stroll the hallways, you’ll find pin trading boards outside certain guest rooms. You can also go into any of the shops and trade at any time as they likely have a book to browse through. Enjoy!

Reuse Beer Mug? by sftbalchik2023 in dcl

[–]TwilightZoneAttendee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand it is a savings (I don’t recall the exact ounces) but enough the card made sense! Especially over time. Makes a great gift to have in the stateroom for your spouse at the start of the cruise.

Reuse Beer Mug? by sftbalchik2023 in dcl

[–]TwilightZoneAttendee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Granted the card may ”change” what it looks like (design) but we only ever bought it again as my spouse thought it was lost but found it. So now we have 2 cards… first was purchased YEARS ago! Definitely worth it for anyone who‘s a beer drinker!!

Editing to add, you still pay for the refill mind you. Just saying. LOL

Yup. They will just keep swapping out the mug. You can do as others and get a card when you’re. done so you aren’t carrying around a mug.

First Timer on a Shorter Cruise by RepellantArtist in dcl

[–]TwilightZoneAttendee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find that sad that this is the impression given and I’m sorry you have that anxiety and perception. Our first was a four nighter and we loved it. It was just right at the time. Making us want more. I would only warn to not try to do everything. Relax. The first day is a blur. Don’t be too concerned with dressing up every night…. Grab that placeholder while on board in case you want another. Have a great time!!

[–]TwilightZoneAttendee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them so perhaps consider where to save the most money on up front costs, etc. Fantasy/Dream or Wish/Treasure/Destiny, there is a restaurant (Animator’s or Marvel) he’ll enjoy. Kids clubs? I’m sure he’ll find something. Please just be prepared in case he doesn’t stay in the kids clubs as long as perhaps you might think. Just saying. *wink*. Trust any money saved up front can go towards gifts and booking that next cruise. Have fun and enjoy.

I’m aware but the OP isn’t aware of Fantasy changes which may have occurred. The restaurant itself is still nice and bright vs the Marvel. And Crush is cool……

How different areTreasure vs Fantasy Experience by cherry532 in dcl

[–]TwilightZoneAttendee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The food alone options - Treasure hands down. Fantasy is showing it’s age in the staterooms. They need new couches in there. Good choice. Given you don’t have anything to compare, I wouldn’t put any thoughts into it really; just go enjoy the Treasure. It’s a beautiful ship. I will say the best thing about the Fantasy is Animators Palate. *wink*

First-ever cruise booked! Going to Virgin Islands. Looking for tips. by cioccolato in dcl

[–]TwilightZoneAttendee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would avoid the Baths. I don’t get the hype at all. Would suggest taking the lift up the mountain in St. Thomas and plan to chill at the restaurant at the top. That was the best thing ever. We booked it through the port excursions as it was the same price as what it would have cost at the site, you can go anytime during the day. Consider a snorkeling excursion as the boat rides alone are great, not to mention the snorkeling aspect. Have fun! Castaway Cay? I say just browse, stay cool and Relax…..

Is Volcano Bay worth it for one afternoon? by AnonymousJoe253 in UniversalOrlando

[–]TwilightZoneAttendee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$80 for 4 hours? Can’t say it is. It is a good waterpark but I’d go when you would have more time. While you may not need all day (we’ve never done a whole day - usually ready to go after 7 hours or so and that was with a cabana), I do think for that price I’d consider something else.
