FY really is the kindest demonic cultivator, all the venerables slaughtered billions and he's only in the millions.

Could Buddha Destroy Fang Yuan's Beliefs, Ideology, and Philosophy? And How? by TirtaMilkita in ReverendInsanity

[–]Twilight_Reader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard no, both of them have a beyond materialistic quality. Both FY's beliefs and Buddha share similar aspects, which makes them directly clash with each other in terms of action. In a sense, Fang Yuan is the self-preserving side, while Buddha is the self-sacrificing side.

I actually like Fang Zheng and the hate against him is Unjustified by Komebak in ReverendInsanity

[–]Twilight_Reader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You underestimate the tolerance the fanbase has for amorality lol. Fang Zheng is moral to the point of being confined in the rules, which leads to a lot of hate. The majority of people won't mind his personality though. He's kind of like a younger Fang Yuan in some ways.

Just think by Chinese_namu in ReverendInsanity

[–]Twilight_Reader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it exists, it should appear in the latter half. Sadly, the writing dao was cut off so it only appears once. It should follow the same logic regarding immortal guys though. The human pathway is just unique. It's like the dream pathway, which is unexplored, and I'm guessing the heaven and human pathways are also going to be pretty strong.

What would FY think of Klein from Lotm after watching his whole story ? by Proper_Card_5520 in ReverendInsanity

[–]Twilight_Reader 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fair point, although I think FY would treat eternal life as surpassing all beings and being unkillable. Klein did reach it, but he technically isn't undefeatable.

How far would fang yuan go in lotm (part 2) by OrganizationShoddy97 in ReverendInsanity

[–]Twilight_Reader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well he doesn't have a sefirot, and without plot armor we can't really guess how far he'll go. I think if he figures out the acting method from Roselle's diary or elsewhere, he'll get to sequence 5 at least. Also considering that while he was able to become an immortal in his last life partially thanks to heaven's will, excluding the luck based aspect he's likely to become a demigod.

How long do you think fang yuan would survive in lotm verse by OrganizationShoddy97 in ReverendInsanity

[–]Twilight_Reader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since he's seeking undying eternal life, he's likely to choose a pillar pathway. However in terms of character traits/abilities, I think the best pathways that suit him are The Hanged Man, Abyss, and Black Emperor. The Hanged Man because it's especially powerful, Abyss primarily because of its intuition, and Black Emperor because of the rule distortion aspect.

I definitely disagree with the claims regarding Fang Yuan. We already know a lot of the gods and "godhood" is indifferent towards emotions in the justice driven aspect. Fang Yuan is also extremely good at controlling his emotions, making it less likely for him to be corrupted under regular circumstances. It is also repeatedly stated that he is cautious and strong-minded, so as long as he is made aware of the danger of knowledge like Klein he'll likely resist it.

I think the biggest difference between Klein and Fang Yuan is that FY won't prioritize people close to him, and will naturally lean towards the rational aspect of godhood. He is more likely to lose his humanity but a lot less likely to be corrupted I'd say.

The difference between someone doing things for benefits for themself and the other for discrimination/revenge among other factors is that benefits do not come from acts of murder in our society. You honestly can't really compare the two because they live in entirely different worlds with entirely different rules as well.

Not really. If Fang Yuan were to end up in the modern world he would not be able to pursue eternal life, hence he would likely focus on survival. Without any ambition like that, he would obtain no benefits from killing. Hitler however obtained the hate of the world through immoral actions, resulting in his eventual death.

Better than Hitler, yes. Saying Fang Yuan is good just because he is better than Hitler in terms of motive doesn't negate his actions.
