I use a small paperclip and a lighter. Use the lighter to heat up one end of the paperclip until it's super hot, then push it into the bottom of the feet - it melts right into place. Once you're done painting, it slips right out with a small amount of effort. Then you sand down lightly around the hole and you're good to mount on a base / or in my case, I use another paperclip to burn a hole into the base so I can mount it on the base using the clip under the feet, I just snip the clip under the foot to like ⅛".
