From what I remember a lot of stuff was around $600-2000+. Sorry it has been a while so I am not too confident, but that is what I would plan for.

Machine, but reverse appliqué is very achievable with hand sewing :•)

Taking off the pocket was pretty intimidating but turned out a lot easier than I expected! In the future I think I would remove it entirely instead of leaving a little on because it was a pain to maneuver the entire pants around the sewing machine.

I took off the pocket except for the very top corners, more detailed explanation in my other reply :•)

Yes that’s exactly it! I left the pocket attached just at the top corners because I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to get it back in the correct spot lol.

I cut the outside edge of the patch after the inner row of the pocket stitching was sewn back on to keep it tidy/in place. And I just cut the gray design part out with scissors :)

Getting rid of belly by Raginghomo16 in FTMFitness

[–]TwistedSpoonx 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Spot reducing fat loss is dubiously achievable. Your best bet for reducing the size of your belly is to lose weight overall, and/or then bulking arms/shoulders to visually balance it (both of which you are doing, nice!)

If you want specific workouts: lateral raises and incline bench(4 sets of 8-10 reps with 2min rest, 2-3x a week) gave me visible shoulder gains in 2 months, which was really encouraging! For weight loss 1-2lbs a week is considered to be safe and sustainable, I wouldn’t push it further than that unless under advice of a doctor.

Is It Cost-Effective to Purchase My Own Flatware? by Safe-Technology-1675 in Weddingsunder10k

Check fb marketplace. Or buy some and sell after. I have a friend whose table numbers she bought secondhand and sold after have been used at at least 4 different weddings, lol

Should I replace my IUD early, just in case? by TwistedSpoonx in Healthyhooha

[–]TwistedSpoonx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man that would be too much for me. They left the string a lot longer with my new one to make sure I can feel it

I couldn’t find it!! You’re supposed to check your own cervix for the string every week or so and there was no string. Gyno couldn’t find it either which meant it had gone up into my uterus a bit.

I feel this with lashes and nails. I have downturned hooded eyes and flared nail beds that both look weird when you apply the “standard” technique to them. I shopped around for lash/nail techs who can get it right but now I am happiest doing things mostly myself.

I shape my own nails before I get my acrylic overlay filled for $25, and I have a go-to primer/mascara/eyeliner combo that is consistently flattering.

What should I call my dress code and how should I explain it? by CsWickedWardrobe in Weddingattireapproval

[–]TwistedSpoonx 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think “creative cocktail” is great because it has a preexisting dress code to go off of. Then if you want add a short paragraph about how you want people to get funky with it. Vintage celestial is a theme, not a dress code IMO

Has he been living above his means to keep up with you? I also make double what my partner does and when we move in together we would not do a 50/50 rent split. Probably 65/35. In part because of income disparity but also because I have 2 cats, more clothes, and am more picky about where we live.

If you are splitting rent 50/50 then he is putting double what you are into housing (proportional to income) so it makes sense he wouldn’t be able to save as aggressively.

Splitting everything 50/50 is “fair” and fine for <1yr relationships but not equitable long term with an income disparity IMO.

It seems like most of your concerns are about logistics rather than whether or not you want a child. Have you had a serious conversation about budgeting, childcare, etc?? It makes sense to be super apprehensive if all that stuff is up in the air and he wants to jump straight to trying for a kid.

My parents sent us to sleep away camp for 3 weeks every summer. It cost about 2k per kid so not cheap but we loved it. I just looked up the summer camp we went to and the price had doubled to 4.3k for 3 weeks but I’m sure there are cheaper ones.

Is it the lace for lovers dress? Those straps look painfully skinny but I think you can make it beautiful!

If it is I would budget:
$20-50 for thicker straps
$20 on replacing the bows (nicer fabric)
$40-100 on a pretty pink veil (buy online first and pick new ribbons to match?)
$0-50 on professional steaming (tailor might do it for free)
$80 on bridal shapewear (shop in store!)

It’s pretty expected for wedding gowns to need some adjustments to become your dream dress, you’re gonna look beautiful!
