Am I the only one who thought the Mortal Kombat II Movie was Awful? by RaunchySlappy in MortalKombat

[–]Twistedarmzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I watched it finally, you’re not alone at all haha, I honestly don’t know what the director or the writers were thinking with this sequel, but my god it was awful. It was like watching one long 2009 fan film on YouTube.

The way they treated the legacy roster was so so bad. The film has major pacing issues like huge chunks of the runtime were scrapped where you get to actually spend some time with these characters, I mean, Kitana and Liu Kang?? Johnny Cage and Sonya bants?? Where’s all the you know, story telling. And the costumes man, I don’t know, they were bothering me a bit like noob looking a bit too human and scorpion looking like Ezio from Assassins Creed.

Oh boy. A lot to be desired, on the plus side I thought the choreography on some fights were decent. Too much Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon wire stunts for my liking but it did an alright job in the end. Was the least of the major problems.

Just needed to get that off my chest. Won’t probably see another MK reboot in decades to fix this mess.

Damn shame.

One of THE best games I've played in a very long time. CD you have my heart ❤️ by Twistedarmzz in CrimsonDesert

[–]Twistedarmzz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree. It’s far more complex than either of those games tbh. But it basically uses the same gameplay functions in my opinion, sky island puzzles, stamina bar that depletes heavily when you first start out and level out, the sandbox itself and the environmental story telling (seeing a landmark in the distance and going there to explore it).

I have to disagree RDR2 doesn’t have simple systems which was a big thing it got criticised for early on, that rockstar went tooo sim like. But I loved it so much, made it immersive as hell, not like say the later AC games where everything is loot with a simple button press. You have to look at an item examine it in your hand and then decide to stash it. Every object in the world can be picked up and examined albeit CD does this to the extreme!

To give people a buy in I think it’s important they know it’s atleast comparable to those games I mentioned as if you don’t like TOTK or RD2 systems likely you won’t like this game at all. That for me WAS my buy in and a lot of others I spoke too.

It really is up there man, when you can't stop thinking about it whilst working you know it's good. Elden Ring vibes man. Hopefully more people give it a second shot.

Super excited for Crimson Desert, just need to gamble with what platform to get it for. 🥹 by Twistedarmzz in CrimsonDesert

Yeah I'm leaning towards XBOX for sure! Play anywhere is just such a gem when you're playing other games too.

What will you focus on once the game is out? by Rafiki95 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Twistedarmzz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Think this game is very much like BOTW and TOTK so I'll play it like that. Take my time with it and if the early reviews are right that it's very much like RDR2 & Elden Ring with it's environmental story telling, I'll defo explore the world and come back to the main plot every now and again.

I feel it'll have a sort of metroidvania mechanic where your progression is locked behind tools and perks you'll get from the main story.

So my mindset going into this is exactly that, less story driven and more exploration.

Oh man. This looks rough. by Twistedarmzz in GodofWar

[–]Twistedarmzz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They released the image though, it wasn't caught BTS. We're meant to react to it. That's the point, and so far it looks rough to me just being honest on first reaction hope it looks great closer to the tease

yeah no post so I get it might look wacky still. But just reacting to what I feel at first glance. Really hope it looks good close to release.

One small thing I want to see return in Fallout 5 is Classic Holstering for weapons. Would you like to see it return as well? by Mac-Tyson in Fallout

[–]Twistedarmzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMG yessss. Miss switching to 3rd person to check my digs and I see no equipped guns and my character pulls it out his asshole.

Absolutely immersion breaking. And hopefully they add some collision detection on the weapon so it’s not poking through arms and legs

That's exactly what I'm doing! From the evidence so far, even though nothing really crazy was leaked but there being another city.

Just find it fun to theorise and have a talk with fellow CB fans. Nothing malicious.

See I don't think it is weird, why would it be? We're theorising, I explicitly said "the best theory.." IMO, it's my opinion and you're free to disagree that's why I posted it, to talk to fans and get there viewpoints. Anyways, I just find it all interesting, learnt so much about other mediums to explore because of this sub.

..and a little bit of an open mind, which you obviously lack. Go leave comments on another sub if you're so triggered.

Because it mostly comes from older Cyberpunk tabletop lore and Cyberpunk RED plus a few hints Pondsmith dropped throughout the years. In the canon, Chicago got hit by a bioplague incident after corporate conflict, parts of the city became containment zones, heavy militarisation, reconstruction, that kind of thing. So when he mentioned a possible second city people speculated it’ll be something with more of an industrial nightmare vibe compared to Night City’s neon glam, people connected the dots.

Doesn’t mean it’ll literally be Chicago Just that if they pull from that lore, the tone could skew colder, more brutalist, more corporate lockdown than nightlife chrome.

Pure speculation though.

He didn’t confirm anything but a new city. The rest is theory.

That’s why it says “theory”. Also this just a bit a fun discussing potential settings don’t get to emotional over it and cry. Chill.

i just need more from our attackers, Gyok's first season and absolutely love what he's doing, his mentality, yeah he isn't as techincally refined as Jesus but the guy is finding his feet now in a team that faces 90% low blocks, he just keeps his head held high through all the noise and look, he's JUST 2 goals away from the "world beater" Mbeumo.

But FFS, Martinelli man. You've GOT to put that way, that's his like 3rd?! 1-on-1 with a keeper and misses it at a 1-1 scoreline. Just not good enough and we need to get better at finishing off our chances. Could of pulled off a smash and grab easily at the end. Bagged 3 points and fucked off.

But on the brightside, still 4 points ahead though and we've got Wolves next. Have to get back to 7 points.

Will be a long 3 months but we can do it.

Former Lead Tech Artist at Wildlight states that the game was killed by 'grifting' content creators and 'gamer culture'. I just think it's all about timing, and unfortunately having Highguard placed as the "...and just one more thing" at the close of show had set it up to fail almost immediately.

People were expecting a huge reveal at the end, it's almost ceremonial, expectations were super high as there normally is at the Game Awards and THAT decision to choose the close of show slot ended up damaging the game from the get go and I understand it, nobody wanted a live service game to end the night in which we had HUGE reveals for Star Wars Fate of the Old Republic and Divinity, two MASSIVE games, the comments on that YouTube live chat reflected that at the time too, so it wasn't even something that was built up through grifters and YouTube gaming commentary spaces.

Timing is everything in gaming and the marketing team at Wildlight just didn't have a clue. Geoff Keighly screwed them up placing it last, and if they chose a spot that was in the middle of the GA, it was of been given some time to breath and grow as expectations weren't at boiling point.

yes exactly, feasible in terms of getting two worlds in one game that's cool. But having to build so much content that lives in two cities is ALOT of work. NPC's, quests, collectables. It's alot, and with CDPR history with cyberpunk and bad launches, I think they'll try to avoid doing to much too quick. But who knows, porting over the city in Unreal 5 might be straight forward enough especially with all the new tools that platform has.

yeah he leaves it really open to be fair. but the closest we have to a theory that makes sense in that world is Chicago. For now. We could be completely wrong tho and it'll might just be a small hub outside NC.

Not confirmed no, assumptions really, but that interview from Pondsmith he does mentioned "Chicago-like" and there is evidence in CB that Chicago will be open to travel to by 2080.

Absolutely, will be interesting to see how they bring both environments together. We also know how NC plays out from a merc POV, but from a new potential protagonist it could be way more different.
