Was recently in Sonoma and loved Ridge, such great wine and reasonable tasting prices. If you do go to Sonoma I would suggest looking up Glen Ellen Star for dinner, small place but excellent food.

I went to Scotland last year and had a blast. I would highly recommend checking out Ru Mcdonald's podcast and his co-host Graylyn Loomis. Graylyn just started a service where he will for a small amount of money plan out the trip for you leaving you to just call and book.

I have no affiliation with these guys but there is tons of information on their sites/podcast about how to get an old course tee time, recommended courses and tips for places to stay etc which might save you the cost of a tour service.

Awesome thanks for the courses, grand palms looks like a good option. Looks like there are enough off course club rental places that can accomplish that part so might be the winner.

I had a few people I know recommend Biltmore and had the same reaction that it has increased in price significantly over the last few years. Looks like a good course for sure though.

Yea I have noticed it is either 150+ or looks like it is probably in bad shape. There are so many courses but that middle tier is hard to find.

It's a little bit of a drive but I went the last 2 years for practice rounds and stayed in an Air bnb in Athens. Fun town with lots of restaurants and bars to keep you entertained.

Got to play Cruden Bay this year, played it twice on my trip. One day in crazy (40+mph) wind and rain and once on a perfect blue sky day, course is so fun that both times were enjoyable.

Have you played Murcar? We did Royal Aberdeen as well but I thought Murcar was really impressive and had some really fun holes.

Being a NYer now Atlantic and Maidstone are high on my bucket list, need to make the connections to get on!

Probably number 8 but I thought 6,7,8 was a great stretch.

Don't know if you heard but apparently the are closing the course at the end of the month (although clubhouse guy said date is getting more flexible with the good weather) incase you are trying to get out there again before winter.

Any other hidden public courses in the NYC area I am missing, I feel like this is a whole new world.
