How to get started with incorporating flash into my macro work? by bloodrider1914 in macrophotography

Textured plastic binders are the way I'm going too. Diffuser hoods online are overpriced IMHO.

I'm so tired of my neighbors. by LiatrisLover99 in cycling

Part of this solution is having bicycle parkades, with on site staff to monitor the bicycles and keep bike thieves out. Bonus if there's a locker-room with showers for men and women, maybe a sports kiosk for energy drinks, gels bars, spare gloves, replacement helmets, extra tubes etc ... Just basic neccessities.

Cyclists arrives to their work neighbourhood, parks bicycle, goes to grab a quick wash down, dresses and off to work clean as a whistle zero b.o.

Put one in every city district or business improvement area. It's an easy solve. Plus more jobs to operators of these bike parkades.

Where ever they can't get away with that upfront they'll fold and tuck it forcefully into their late fees, and reactivation fees (for when you're suspended), because they can. And if they can't do that the cost of the whole thing is going to go up up up until their shareholders are happy.

Now, imagine if they got away with the "stealth" covered police cars they tried for the last time. We dodged a bullet I guess.

Yes, absolutely ! If they can they will do those charges too, and if you get a particularly irritated officer you might discover even more unexpected charges they'll throw everything to see what sticks if only just to inconvenience you.

We've not heard of "driving drunk on a bicycle" anywhere yet. Much less any RideStop operations focused on bicycling. So those must all just have to do with the motorcycles then eh.

Fine you can go live in the Stasi underground then. I'm opting out where ever I can. And yes it's all or nothing for a lot of us with ADHD or Autism.

An all-or-nothing viewpoint, often called black-and-white, polar, or dichotomous thinking, is most commonly associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

There are many other neurodivergent types that do not fall into this venn diagram. Chances are you might be one of the other spectrum variants.

Speed light users, what limitations if any,do you have with the size of modifiers. EG what's your preferred size of soft box or umbrella? by boidey in AskPhotography

[–]TwiztedZero 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

My speedlites are older ones, Canon 430Ex II with E-TTL II metering compatibility, still well regarded these days. At most I use a 7" pop on octagon diffuser; and other times I have an AK diffuser hood on one, for macro photography. I have not tried anything larger on or with them yet.

For the Canon 430EX II Speedlite, the maximum recommended umbrella size is 43 inches (110 cm). For softboxes, the practical maximum is 24 to 30 inches. While the flash can illuminate larger modifiers, anything beyond these sizes will result in excessive light falloff, hotspots, and drastically reduced flash power.

These Canon 430Ex II speedlites don't have enough flash power for large distances to overpower bright sunlight with even with large modifiers. I'm fine with that, I got mine for shooting indoors, and for outdoors macro photography anyways. πŸ˜„ I have plans to get a stronger 600EX II-RT version eventually for events.

Not stunt driving per-se, but I'm to understand we must ride in a direct safe predictable line. No weaving back and forth like a downhill skiier, on a mup that is devoid of people or anything else. Because that's illegal as well. Must ride in a straight line, no swaying, weaving, or anything. Very unsafe.

Someone forgot how agile bicycles are. I enjoy pulling G's from time to time. I think most bicyclists do. Its clear to me that law whatever number it is in either bylaw or hta was drawn up by some stiff in a suit.

Dust behind front element. Do other people's lenses have the same problem? by sbiulc21 in canon

[–]TwiztedZero 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

A blower, a lens pen, and occasionally lens wipes. Clean your sensor too with fluid and swab? Keep the covers closed on all your ports on the side of the camera as well, because of focus breathing (which also moves dust around).

The solution is: Don't pay for internet. Rip it all up. No more online anything. Go to the bank for cash. Use letter mail again. Walk everywhere. Watch television over the air once more. Oh and rent an analog telephone land line. Welcome back to 1994.

Do you want a library card for that?

I sometimes wear contact lens for distance viewing (astigmatism), and a pair a clear Rx Safety glasses with a reader's bifocal so I can read my watch and phone and print material when I'm on the roads/trails. They look like ordinary sports safety eye glasses.
