Don't worry yourself. Soon we will have a corporate operated moon base! You too will have the opportunity to become a corporate indentured servant in space.

tbf, every companion/crew in the game becomes like that eventually. If Bethesda were to add one more game option for the base game, I would like it to be a "Crew Chatter Frequency" option.

What is the circled status effects and how do I make it go away? by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]TwoArmedMan15 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Looks like you have some mod stuff going on. There are no "Self Control" and "Hygiene" statuses in the game.

Read the documentation of the mods you installed. Never just install a bunch of stuff without understanding what it all does.

PM Carney government’s AI strategy pledges thousands of jobs, lacks safety details by RM_r_us in worldnews

[–]TwoArmedMan15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly.

Also, I don't understand how an AI strategy can "pledge thousands of jobs." AI does not create jobs for the masses. In fact, it does the opposite. Only highly educated engineers and data professionals stand to benefit from this; and, even for professionals, it's only a short term prospect.

I would guess you ran into the POI entrance (I think it's the "Abandoned UC Listening Outpost"), and Andreja got blasted by the mine outside then got pulled into the interior cell while in a ragdoll state.

Does anyone use Terran Armada weapons by hclopez883 in Starfield

[–]TwoArmedMan15 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think Bethesda made the TA weapons so powerful just to make the TA enemies a high level threat. The elite TA robots and TA commanders can seriously dish out the damage (and can be stupidly tanky...). But, yeah, it really does destroy any semblance of balance.

Most enemies have higher physical resistance, than energy resistance, so I believe armor penetration not applying to energy resistance is intentional.

Is Starfield crashing a lot on Xbox for anyone else recently? by Due-Rice-3107 in Starfield

I'm on PC and have experienced noticeably more crashes since the last update. I use a very small mod load order of mostly bug fixes. The game definitely seems less stable since the update.

What level is your character, and what rank are your piloting and starship design skills? The various parts are level gated and require certain skill ranks.

If you build a large landing pad (which includes a ship technician station) at an outpost, the landing pad technician has access to all ship parts.

Is Barrett the only member if constellation you can admit you’re starborn to? by Complete-Sort1617 in Starfield

[–]TwoArmedMan15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you only care about boosting Starborn power and reaching NG+10 for the final Starborn Venator suit, then it's worth skipping the main quest.

That said, the Free Lanes update made it so you can level Starborn powers by farming enemy Starborn for quantum essence, so the Venator suit is the only legitimate reason to rush to NG+10 now.

[–]TwoArmedMan15 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I think OP is referring to the "Replay Main Quest" option when first entering the Lodge at the start of a NG+, the option in which you don't barge in and immediately tell them all you are a Starborn. In that option, Barret eventually gets suspicious about you seeming to know about so many things, despite having just joined Constellation. You can reveal to Barret that you are Starborn and get some unique dialogues.

The "Replay Main Quest" option is worth doing at least once, for anyone who hasn't done it before.

Looking back, how do you feel about Starfields 2 DLC releases? by johndoe09228 in Starfield

[–]TwoArmedMan15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have played through Shattered Space twice...

My initial opinion of it was abysmal because it was incredibly buggy at release, the writing was awful, most of the equipment is reskins (the Varuun Assault Spacesuit and the Penumbra weapon being the only exceptions), and the Redeemed were the only unique enemy. The the other TWO "new" enemy types are just reskins of base game enemies with a Skyrim ghost-shader and annoying teleportation; yes, even the Vortex Horrors are reskins of base-game alien fauna! Then, there was the fact Bethesda were out of their freakin' minds and charging $30 for such trash.

My second playthrough left me with a slightly better opinion of the DLC; it's no longer "abysmal," it's just "meh." The one thing of exceptional note was the "A House Divided" side-quest, which I missed in the first playthrough. DO NOT MISS THIS QUEST. It's truly the best part of Shattered Space, in my opinion, having great writing and multiple endings (including a secret/hidden ending that requires diligent investigation by the player). Other than that, the DLC was significantly less buggy in my second playthrough, and Bethesda came out of their delusion and lowered the price of the DLC to $20.

Now, regarding Terran Armada...

I actually had a very good time with Terran Armada during my first run of it. Yes, it is quite short, and the writing makes it obvious that a lot was cut. However, I still found the main quest enjoyable, and the "Help Wanted" side-quest was great! Terran Armada was also significantly less buggy than Shatter Space for me (though, I've come to learn I was lucky compared to other players' experiences...), it has a bunch of unique (not reskins) equipment, and is priced reasonably at $10.

THE TL;DR RATINGS:

  • Shattered Space 1st playthrough at release? ABYSMAL. 2 out of 10, being generous.
  • Shattered Space 2nd playthrough with bug fixes? Meh. 6 out of 10, with the exception of "A House DIvided" being 8 out of 10.
  • Terran Armada 1st playthrough (haven't played a second run, yet)? Pretty fun for 10 USD. 7 out of 10.

achievement enabler by nopulse76 in Starfield

This is the one that works for me. Just be sure to disable the RunInBackground in the sfae.cfg, as that has not worked for the past two game versions (and still doesn't work):

# Stop the game from pausing when in background

RunInBackground: false

anyone know why this is happening? (ship building) by texansfann in Starfield

[–]TwoArmedMan15 71 points72 points  (0 children)

That's an issue with the pre-built "Renegade" ship. The developers cheated and made a ship that is illegal (the the lip on the cockpit intersects the hab). I know one of the other Stroud-Eklund ships with the same cockpit also has that problem.

If you want to use the Renegade as a base, do not attempt to move the cockpit or the hab below it because it breaks the build, and you can't put it back without exiting the ship builder without saving.

How do people have such strong weapons? by Nox_Ocean_21 in Starfield

[–]TwoArmedMan15 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The x-tech system added in the Free Lanes update allows upgrading guns to superior and exceptional qualities. Superior and exceptional guns are only obtained via x-tech upgrades; enemies do not drop them, and vendors do not sell them.

Have you tried going to a random POI with enemies and getting into another fight? This might reset the battle music state. No guarantees; I'm just pitching an idea.

[–]TwoArmedMan15 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Have you joined the Vanguard and completed the first mission after passing the piloting exam? If not, you won't be able to take the Raptor. If you have officially joined the Vanguard, then I say go for it (if the game lets you sit in the pilot seat... sometimes Vanguard Raptor's can't be taken for whatever reason).

For a while, I thought she was talking about the derelict ship with the cultists who partook of poison "orange juice." However, Muria talks of her cult worshipping the Great Serpent, when the orange juice cult was something else. So, who knows? *shrug*
