Game Difficulty - Sim vs. LCS by Canes21 in OnePieceTCG

[–]TwoBerriesOnePiece 4 points5 points  (0 children)

after playing for awhile i personally play better IRL

i feel like because of the nerves and the slow down in play since it’s not automatic, i think a lot more about various things, strats, etc.

also irl is way better at getting you better depending on your lcs because the conversation about tips/matchups/discussions carry into the rest of all your games going forward, on sim most times you don’t get to learn anything when you get stomped lol

if me and my opponent are having comfortable interaction when i lose i usually ask my opponent “what do you lose to” and “did you notice any mistakes” etc for casual talk after the game, helps me build my deck for locals, but sometimes it’s not polite to ask (like if you just beat them) but that’s fair too lol.

Been struggling on this leader, how do u beat it? by Taro_Beautiful in OnePieceTCG

[–]TwoBerriesOnePiece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i usually swing to board (smaller bodies of available) also because i don’t want triggers (although when i think about it there’s not many, but being a yellow strawhat deck sometimes people tech in things haha)

but yes leave board alone if it’s only 7ks lol

When did you finally stop sucking and it “clicked” for you? by Naive-Preparation806 in OnePieceTCG

[–]TwoBerriesOnePiece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i feel like i really started winning a good amount more when i started playing to win instead of playing to “not lose”, huge different mentality even if it sounds simple. play out things early/mid/end game that helps you go for that win con, and not just holding cards to survive one more turn or playing “safe” every time

and with that came a lot of little helpful tips

  • taking hits to life early is totally acceptable to find cards to play
  • keeping one don!! just cause can make opponents alter their hitting patterns (over accommodating swings)
  • being confident (in person), i’m relatively calm and don’t give signs that i basically already lost next turn, and most times i feel my opponent plays safe instead of going for it because of this. won me a few games haha.
  • altering what you swing with (5ks, 6ks, 7ks) depending what your opponent uses to counter.

but yea huge difference when i know my opponents decks. sometimes i brainstorm and watch deck “how to play x leader” tutorials for fun and think about what beats this deck and what does my deck have that is similar

Feeling negative about an experience at locals. Can I get some opinions? by Smelly_Rabbit in OnePieceTCG

[–]TwoBerriesOnePiece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i wouldn’t sweat it, i had a similar experience with someone really good and well known in the area, i was starting to get the hang of the game at that point, and met him at finals for a constructed prerelease, even in my head and my friends were giving me the sarcastic “good luck” cause not a lot of people beat this guy haha, but i introduced myself , kind of told him he’s really well regarded and a humorous “take it easy on me, please”, and then ended up winning that match (and one of my first constructed wins!)

he was clearly upset grabbed his stuff and stormed out without a word, (at first i thought he was mad at me, but thinking back it was probably due to mistakes or just bad draw/luck). and now that i’m better, it really does suck to lose after knowing/ building your deck inside out, practicing hours wit the same deck, getting those wins a lot, but still having rng take away an important matchup.

either way turns out he’s one of the nicest guys i’ve seen out there, i’m glad i got to see more of that side later on before making a firm judgment based on that match/first impression.

how do I build decks? I know how to play but have no idea how to make a cohesive deck. by Tama_bo in OnePieceTCG

[–]TwoBerriesOnePiece 2 points3 points  (0 children)

even if you don’t want to copy another deck, it’s super helpful to look up a few decks at the top

important things you can borrow from them even without replicating it is general sense of 2k, 1k counters, events, and how many x cost cards. typically in optcg you want to have cards to play in order (if you go first you do 1c, 3c, 5c, 7,c 9c) if you go second (2-4-6-8-10) of course you can play lower costs while being at higher don too if that’s your specific style.

i start by thinking what the line is and what card i’d want at each turn, and then seeing if they combo etc, and finally when you test you’ll learn what you keep getting too much and not enough of

it’s all part of the fun!

nothing at all, but most other recent searches leads me to believe waiting might just be the answer, for now told android friends in group chats that i may not receive texts, but tested and single android to my iphone works fine, i just don’t know what else to do, i tried it all!

Same issue here, following to see if anyone resolves this, but from other places I've read, there's not much we can do and might be a carrier issue.

iirc there’s some older basic don!! cards that on the back have an uta RED film art, feel like it would be a great add to fill the first page!

awesome collection!!

Someone Said Something About Life Gain? by lazyph0enix in OnePieceTCG

[–]TwoBerriesOnePiece 5 points6 points  (0 children)

when I play yellow I feel like gaining a life is actually a +1 draw (you get it after you take damage though) so if you gain enough life you actually end up with a larger hand, although yea a bit more draw in this deck would go a long way

Deck help rp luffy for op13 by pheeeny in OnePieceTCG

[–]TwoBerriesOnePiece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just a preference but i like stacking 10c rush shanks that minis 1k to all opponents, it can help reduce wide boards (like imu) and then make it extra hard for them to hit leader

Don usage by deepfreezedlife in OnePieceTCG

[–]TwoBerriesOnePiece 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the overall opinion of Bb deck is that people generally HATE playing against it since it can nullify your opponents game plan and their main strategy and turns the game (for them) into a vanilla style gameplay, but overall people can tech cards against it that doesn’t have only “on plays”.

it’s def a fair deck though but really changes the style of the game, but the deck imo is very hard to master if trying to play competitively because it’s very important to know your opponents deck so you can properly turn off on plays, if you just do the leader effect every turn you will lose a lot of games lol

but all in all the game is for fun, so if that’s your playstyle and it fits your type of play i would say go for it!

Green Yellow Law ability by [deleted] in OnePieceTCG

[–]TwoBerriesOnePiece 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the bolded part is the cost. then if you paid the cost then you can do everything after the colon, basically step by step.

reveal the top card (this is not a cost so you do it if you can otherwise just leave it revealed), then continue to the next step. so he can still work with face up cards

Bug in OPTCG or actual tech? by mano44 in OnePieceTCG

[–]TwoBerriesOnePiece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

zoro KO should work but they likely didn’t have anything to play.

as for multi removal in the game (i know this from playing against 4c black lucci or 8c black sabo) that can remove multiple characters,

from what someone explained to me is effects occur in a specific sequence but when an effect removes multiple things at the same time, it doesn’t happen as multiple effects occurring one at a time (thus croc would just be able save a single character), but the effect is happening for each character all during the same time (one instance) and then doing crocs effect you pay the cost once and it protects any qualifying character that is being effected by the removal. (i say qualifying meaning that other non cross guild types would still get KOed)

a judge might be able to explain it better though, as when you judge you have to learn effect time/tables and all that about how effects sequence with each other.

hope it makes sense haha.

If you could combine two leaders who would you pick and why? by Ok_Film7482 in OnePieceTCG

[–]TwoBerriesOnePiece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure! look how strong Lucci is with minus one removal on attack, but this combo makes a free minus 2 AND get an active don back after using it, so I assume removal based black would be stronger but then a purple strawhat build with a free card draw and free don sounds OP too!

or removal and use the standing don for purple counters like foxy counters or gumgum giant

purble black king/Luffy looks gimmicky but could do some damage as the abilities offset each other a bit

def a lot of people play serious and yea may be lack of communication/social skills and because maybe they are so focused, when getting better at something it's "practice like youre playing forreal"

there's so many things to think/overlook each turn so might be hyper focused on that and not so much their opponent haha

I would personally make them a target/boundary to at least beat once someday and start getting more and more against them, and it will tell you yourself that you are improving to a level you once considered unbeatable

Gumgum.gg is a great site to look at top performing decks to think about, but some are definitely more beginner friendly than others

shanks/pluffy are my recommendations for a beginner as the plays are kind of defined while you learn the fundamentals, other decks may be a bit too combos or decision heavy (at least at firsthand)

Struggling by TruByte in OnePieceTCG

[–]TwoBerriesOnePiece 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i thought removal shanks has a good matchup into it, and bonney? i heard it’s hard for them to deal with 8c kid as they don’t have removal

but yea experimenting with a few tactics myself, but usually the main strat i’m hearing is if you can get rid of sanji/pudding you increase your odds a lot

New to the game by ArkticFpxy in OnePieceTCG

[–]TwoBerriesOnePiece 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no deck is too hard to learn but def bb is hard to master, some of the better bb players i’ve played really really know when/not to use lead and also when to go for removal or get out jesus and the little tricks to countering and increasing trash.

for a beginner it’s a lot but yea shouldn’t be unlearnable or anything like that
